Ed’s Place is a cozy local breakfast spot with a peaceful pond view and dog-friendly outdoor seating. I’ve tried a few things here, but the El Paso egg sandwich on a biscuit is my favorite. It’s super flavorful and really satisfying. The food is always fresh and comforting, and their homemade pastries are a nice bonus.

Edds Place is truly a hidden gem. My wife introduced me to this spot for the first time, and I was completely blown away by both the quality of the food and the level of service. You can immediately tell how passionate the owner is about what they do—every detail shows, from the freshness of the ingredients to how perfectly everything is prepared.
The home fries were absolutely amazing, the eggs Benedict was cooked to perfection, and my wife couldn’t stop raving about her omelette with avocado. Everything tasted homemade and thoughtfully done, not rushed or generic like so many places.
The outdoor seating is another standout. They have an enclosed gazebo setup, and they do an excellent job keeping it warm and comfortable, even in cooler weather. It adds a really unique and cozy atmosphere you don’t find everywhere overlooking a small waterfront.
We already can’t wait to come back in the spring and summer to try the lobster rolls and other sandwiches. If you haven’t been yet, put this place on your list—you won’t be disappointed.

Incredible food that tasted homemade and fresh yet still prepared by professionals. The best hospitality I’ve ever had in a casual dining experience. Dog friendly patio equipped with treats and clean water bowls. You can never beat a good meal that overlooks a beautiful river landscape. 10/10 will be back.

Intimate, scenic spot on the CT shoreline that is definitely more than meets the eye. Came for the “hot dogs” sign (which you should absolutely order) and stayed for the clam chowder (stunningly good and best I’ve had in recent memory), fried chicken sandwich and strawberries and biscuits. It is seemingly simple food done perfectly from a small punk rock-ish kitchen with the kindest staff you could imagine. Can’t recommend this place highly enough and it has become a regular gathering spot for all my friends and I.

View= fantastic. There is heated outdoor seating. The service is wonderful. There are prepared meals to go! Everything in the display case for baked goodies tastes as good as it looks – which IMO has been good the few times I’ve gone in so far. Breakfast was great here but today I got a sandwich called “The side chick”. It is so good. The chicken is freshly fried up! The Cole slaw is super fresh and I ate a bunch before I took my picture. I love the atmosphere here! They had a Queen record playing today on this snowy blustery winter day and they had a ton of options for Valentine’s Day. Don’t let their size fool you, get on down to Ed’s and get you a side chick!!

Ed’s Place in Westbrook, Connecticut, is an absolute gem. On a cold, rainy day, it was the perfect cozy spot with a beautiful view of the water and the comforting smell of homemade food filling the air. I had a homemade biscuit with a house-made sausage patty, eggs, and cheese, along with a fresh cup of local coffee that tasted like it was brewed with real care.
My best friend ordered the oatmeal topped with fresh strawberries, walnuts, and honey, and everything was fresh and delicious. I also treated myself to a blueberry scone, and couldn’t resist bringing home one of their homemade Hostess cupcakes for my significant other.
Everything was flavorful, homemade, and served with a welcoming, small-town charm. I highly recommend Ed’s Place — it’s a true local treasure. (Took photos after taking bites! Couldn’t help myself!)

Totally surprised by this place! The CT lobster roll was great. I was impressed by the number of items on the menu (lots of great breakfast, brunch/lunch and dinner options). It’s very causal and low key, and the outdoor seating area has a shockingly beautiful view of the river. It’s BYOB also!

Beautiful fast friendly service! Got the foot long hotdog with the works and everything was great and portioned adequately. Food was delivered with a smile carried through the cold rain/hail coming down. First time coming and more times to come for sure!

What a hidden gem! This is certainly a no-frills place, but we really enjoyed it. We went at sunset and enjoyed the beautiful view on the river. The food was all delicious and we found everyone there to be so personable. I liked how the shrimp and grits came out in a unique bowl and the cup of lobster bisque on a different place – it gave a nice homey vibe. Though it was counter service, they were kind enough to bring everything to our table on the patio. It’s nice that they have a glass, heated indoor gazebo as well for chilly or rainy weather. It was much less crowded here too which I preferred to other places in the area.

Delicious from the lobster bisque to the lobster rolls and dessert. What a wonderful find and beautiful location for a meal. You can tell the owner genuinely cares about your dining experience. Will definitely be making another trip to eat here from the NW corner.
