I had lunch with 4 friends. Same group a couple months ago went ok. This time we all returned the soup. It was cold. It was also, obviously canned and watered too far. I got the “smash burger” and should have taken a picture. It looked and ate like it had been in a fast food wrapper all day. I know you can buy boxes of frozen burgers….
I realized next morning I was 7 lbs heavier. I am sensitive to MSG. Both items must have been heavily loaded to taste “edible”.
Server did what he could.

Food was great. The server was so bad though I didn’t want to go back down for FREE breakfast the second day. They were so rude to me yesterday. The front desk told me breakfast was included in my room rate. I showed our breakfast vouchers to the maitre d upon entering the buffet. I placed the vouchers on the table during the meal. I pointed them out to our server. When it was time to leave, I asked if I needed to do anything and the waitress said “Yea, you gotta pay. It’s not free. Lol.” I said I thought the vouchers covered it and she said “oh, I didn’t know you had vouchers. Let me get your bill.” She comes back with a bill for $37. Confused, I put my credit card down thinking she is expecting me to still pay full price and/or trying to “encourage” a card tip. She comes back and hands me my credit card back, visibly annoyed, saying I told you you didn’t have to pay already. I still have no idea why she brought the bill then or why she is so unnecessarily rude in the morning. Anyway, eating their delicious apple sausage again wasn’t enough of a draw to risk interacting with her again awkwardly.

Wow, definitely a hidden gem. We were expecting some over-priced bland hotel restaurant, but actually everything and everyone was perfect.
The outdoor patio seating is perfect for families with dogs. Nice and warm heaters….
The Orchard salad with the cherry-berries and citrus vinaigrette was tasty and refreshing. The prime rib was thick and perfectly cooked for us, not overdone.
Service was great from everyone, especially once they figured out the space heaters…
Especially pleased with the value. 2 of us easily shared the daily special, and even the sandwiches include a good sized salad. Much better than most restaurants in the Village.
BTW, apparently last Wednesday of every month (till end of summer??) is “Dogs and Cocktails.” So come with your dogs to chillax.

So we returned a week later. This time also did not disappoint. The service and food were great again, healthy vegetarian options were tasty and filling. Cost for 3 of us was only $42. We asked for an extra bowl to split a soup we received with the vegetarian sandwich and instead they brought out another full bowl of soup gratis.
Our new favorite. Good with dogs.

It’s a great place for a less busy restaurant. It’s very nice inside and has a cute patio area, too. The food is really good and has nice portion sizes. My favorite is the hamburger salad (I posted a pix)

The Orchard is in back of The Double Tree which originally was Griswold’s. Christopher was bar tender and Ivan was our waiter. Both guys are awesome. We had cheeseburger and Orchard salad. Both were delicious, it was Friday so they had New England clam chowder. Wow, it was very good. Chef had ham in it and it was also delicious. They also have breakfast buffet daily. Really a hidden gem, we will be back. Very quiet, wished I knew about The Orchard a long time ago. Prices awesome as well. Get sum

My mom and I stumbled upon this place after not being able to find parking in downtown Claremont on a busy Friday night. We didn’t realize it was part of the Double Tree until we pulled up but still decided to give it a try as it was getting late and we were very hungry. The waiter was very friendly and the menu, while limited had very yummy sounding choices. We were both very happy with our meals. The patio area would be a great place to hang out and have a cocktail on a nice day or warmer evening.

I really enjoy the food .I normally don’t do buffets but they had a good variety of dishes , excellent omelettes, waffles, and fresh fruit. The manager or person in charge was so attentive to his customers.

I’ve wanted to try this place for a while, but always forget about it since it’s in a hotel. I hope they’re busier on weekends, because we were there on a Thursday evening and it was pretty empty.
The food was great, the atmosphere was fine (not sure if there was construction above us as there was some loud noise on occasion, but it didn’t bother us). There was a nice outdoor dining area, but it was a little warm so we ate inside.
I think the best part though was our server Chris. He was friendly and just overall awesome, and it seemed like the next table over was also enjoying chatting with him.
We’ll definitely go back!

Whenever I’m in town I make it a point to eat here at least once before I check out. The food is tasty, the service is always strong. If it’s a quick breakfast or dinner they treat you right. Highly recommend.
