Our neighborhood grill and tap room opened on Super Bowl Sunday 2010, but it had its beginnings long before that time. We had a vision about creating a spot where friends could gather for great food and a great time. We wanted a place where ‘the locals go’ and visitors are treated like locals. Whether you come in a group or come alone, you will always feel welcome. That vision is now Maxie’s Grill and Tap Room. No matter where you are from you are in the perfect spot for your favorite cold brew, snack, or meal. So kick back and relax with us and enjoy the fun! Where everybody has a name….. Food was great. The Reuben sandwich was delicious and the fries were crispy. Everyone loved their burgers which were cooked to the requested temperatures. The tater tots and onion rings were fried just right. The staff does not seat you therefore you can choose your seats. The food did take a little while to come out but we had a table of four and it was around lunchtime.

The best sports bar in the village of Pinehurst hands-down! Great for golfers, families, age ranges from20 to 50 years of age. This is also a popular local hangout, especially for all of the caddies that work at Pinehurst No. 02 at the resort. I walked in and sat at the bar, waited for a few for someone to come take my order. Once “Maxie” came up to me he asked me what could he get me… but he was dry and rude and I could tell by his tone he must not be fond of MY KIND (which means I’m a black classy looking woman). I told him what I wanted to order and he rushed me into telling him what I wanted on it and waving his hand while he was doing this. I don’t like it. And I’m sure he didn’t have that same demeanor with the white ppl that were present. Do better with customer service when it comes to EVERYONE.

The food was excellent.We had Reuben sandwiches and the pork barbecue. (Their Carolina style barbecue is outstanding!!! All the food was great! Even their French fries were awesome! They were seasoned but not like other restaurants do. They were real potatoes and just lightly dusted with seasoning. They were a hit!

The food here is super good!!! My 3rd visit to them, and my guests and I all had great meals! BBQ sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had! Everything on their menu you can bet will be good. The 2 stars for service really was because they were SO busy and short-staffed that the waitress we had was overwhelmed & not happy. Took her 40 minutes to take our orders!! But all else was 5 stars!! When in town, we go for the food and drinks, so it didn’t matter. Pinehurst, you are lucky to have this great, out of the way place with the truly great menu!!
