The portions come out small, but don’t be fooled — they’re surprisingly filling. Everything tastes fresh and handmade, especially the sauces, which you can tell aren’t shortcuts or things you could easily recreate at home. That level of care makes the experience feel truly authentic and unique.
Their matcha latte is one of the cleanest I’ve had — smooth, balanced, and not overly sweet. It perfectly matches the overall vibe: simple, health-conscious, and intentionally crafted.
It’s rare to find an authentic Japanese vegan spot that is also fully gluten-free, especially one that clearly handmakes so much from scratch. In many of my favorite travel destinations — SF, Oahu, San Diego — there’s always that one standout clean, gluten-free Japanese place. This is Maui’s version of that hidden gem.
You can tell the owners are part of the modern, health-forward movement — the kind of small business that sells out at farmers markets because people trust the quality. After the Lahaina fires in 2023, supporting small local businesses feels more important than ever. Places like this deserve to thrive.
If you’re in Kihei, this spot is too good not to share. A true hidden gem that feels like a nod in the right direction for where food culture is heading — cleaner, kinder, and more intentional.
Sidenote, I think everything is also gluten-free.
Don’t sleep on this spot.
Hidden gem
Their restaurant is conveniently located right across from Three’s Bar & Grill in Kihei, and you can also find them at the Wednesday and Friday farmers markets! Whether you’re vegan or not, this is the kind of food that just makes you feel good!
Their unique and imaginative rolls, crepes, curries, cones and drinks are delicious! Oishi!
In addition, the shop sells very cute beach-themed merch. Stop by and check it out. The owners are the kindest people you’ll meet on Maui.
