I found out about this place while driving by bank street. Saw sign for butter chicken special. I will Start off by saying service was a little slow. I had to keep yelling out hello before being Acknowledged. Owner and cook were friendly and offered a free sample of some bread. Wait time was under ten minutes for food to come out. Food was decent but I have had better. Reason for two stars is because it wasn’t as I expected and service was slow.

Incredibly disappointing. You’ll be much better off buying a jar of sauce and a chicken breast from the grocery store. I’m obsessed with Indian Food. I live near probably the best Indian restaurant in the city. Staying at my girlfriends I decided ti give this place a shot. I regret trying this place twice. The samosas are good if you can get lucky enough to get the right one and the sauce. The butter chicken is alright, not bad but not great. The chicken Tika Masala was alright as well. They just aren’t as flavourful as any other Indian restaurant I’ve tried. The portion size is a joke. The Chicken Tika Masala was mostly nearly raw green peppers. Not even a full chicken breast worth of chicken. The rice was drenched in water. The Naan is such a let down. I can buy the same thing from loblaws. If this is your only experience with Indian food you are severely missing out. Fresh made Naan is an absolute must! Will not be ordering from here again.

This is my worst food experience ever. Expensive but taste poorly. One order comes with only a few pieces of meat and the dish I ordered was literally worse than a 5 dollar street food. They put small portion of the dish I ordered with the same amount of black beans which has no taste at all and fill the rest of the box with rice. It is so bad I’m wordless. It’s not about money. I just feel like I was being scammed.

Pinky and her husband are both very friendly! (Don’t know how to spell her name.) They gave us great deals and they’re very nice. The food was delicious! Very joyful people.

order trough skip the dishes with a 9.1 score. lentil soup was nasty. tasted rotten and unable to eat it. the coconut chicken was dry and not with a good or great taste. below average. After seeing the food i went to google and of course ! the reviews confirm the dish is received is a 2 star plate.

Worst Indian food I’ve had by far. Not sure how this place is still open. To say portions are small would be an understatement. I’ve never felt more ripped off by a restaurant! Flavour is completely lacking in all the curries and the chicken vindaloo might as well be categorized as vegetarian since it was 99% potatoes with 2 small pieces of chicken. Papadums were stale, probably from the day before, and the naan was not fresh and store bought. Never again. Don’t waste your money you will just be disappointed.

This was a very pleasant surprise. We had the Butter Chicken (comes with rice)and Naan bread. We had enough butter chicken left over for another dinner the next day (all we had to do was make some rice to accompany it). Clearly, it gets my vote for portion size. The price was very good and the service prompt. It was there when I expected it so no waiting around. Last but not least – it was very tasty. We’ll give this one a thumbs up

I’m from Montreal and have been to Bombay Garden a couple of times during visits to Ottawa. In my experience it was always great! It’s a small place, looks like it’s family run. They are super nice. The food was always great! I LOVE their shrimp curry. LOVE LOVE LOVE the papadam! The naan bread was delicious! The portions are reasonable, but you still leave super full! 😀
Every time I go to an indian restaurant in my neck of the woods I always compare it to Bombay Gardens 🙂
