Best Indian food I’ve had in Manhattan, and it’s not even close! Fragrant, satisfying, expansive menu, huge portions with GREAT PRICES and friendly/FAST service. I ordered an aromatic egg biryani, a garlic naan with that perfect crispy-to-doughy ratio, and lamb tikka masala with more depth than your typical. No charge for side of refreshing raita and plain rice. Could not recommend more for takeout or a quick dine-in; they also have a newer and bigger space in Kips Bay. Warning that they don’t serve alcohol. Will be ordering again and again!

We went here as a group of about 10 people for a friend’s treat.
I was excited that this restaurant advertised itself to serve Hyderabadi cuisine, and a lot of the items on the menu were indeed what I used to uniquely see in restaurants in Hyderabad, India.

I tried the following.

1. Kubani ka meetha — sweet jam, nice sourness. Mild spices. Delicious.
2. Double ka meetha — warm, milky and not buttery, satisfying bread and cashew nuts. Semolina on top is a distraction.
3. Baigan bagaara — While the name of the dish is in Hindi, it felt closer to the Telugu/Andhra dish that I know as Ennai kathirikkai (எண்ணெய் கத்திரிக்காய்), and it was very close in taste to what is served in Indian Institute of Science (A Mess).
4. Nizami paneer — mild, thick, and yummy.
5. Dahi kebab — soft in the mouth to the extent that it was tongue-biteable.

The roti and rice items were normal. I wish I also tried the Irani chai, but I was too full to order one by myself, at the end.

They gave rice with every gravy we ordered, sadly we couldn’t even get to some of the several bowls of rice. The waiter was kind enough to request us to take it home parceled, but we were guilty of refusing.

Came here a bit before closing on a Saturday night last week. The Goat Dum Biryani was great! The goat was tender and flavorful, the rice was aromatic and dynamic, and the raita complemented the flavors really nicely. The portion was also huge, maybe it’s meant to be shared but I ate it all up myself . I also got the Chaat Samosa with the tamarind sauce which I really liked too. The pastry was crispy and soaked in flavorful sauce . I would totally recommend this place.

The food is good, had a Chicken 65 Biryani. Surprisingly, the rice offered was less but it had more of Chicken pieces, which was unusual for a Biryani. I suggest them to check the serving size.

Overall, I recommend tourists from Asia to try out their cuisine

Boneless fish is tilapia but waiter couldn’t tell me. Got pitcher delivered to my table but had to ask for cup after ten minutes. No utensils at table even after arrival of food and went to pick up at counter myself. Had to order additional rice for first dish that arrived but wasn’t told second dish came with rice which I couldn’t finish.

Food is really good. The place is well kept and clean. The guys working there could smile a little lol, made us feel so out of place for a while. Girl working there was sweet and welcoming though, deserves a raise.

The decor is tasteful, and the place is exceptionally clean with plenty of space — a refreshing change from many Indian restaurants around the area that tend to feel a bit cramped. The tandoori roti was soft and flavorful. My wife especially enjoyed the murgh kadhai, and the Hyderabadi dum biryani didn’t disappoint either. The rice was perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
