Such a cute little cafe! We went there just to have coffee and play games, but ending up getting breakfast because it was only $7!

But I’m actually going to talk about the bathroom. It was adorable. A box labeled “Shark Week” has complementary feminine products, which is hilarious. A small mouse sits across from you on his own toilet while you use the restroom and birds happily chirp for you as you go. 5 star bathroom!

Cozy little cafe, pretty full when we came in but was able to get a table, got a chai latte and 2 classic breakfast burritos and a lemon bar, and oh gosh they were so good! I think this is my favorite way to do potatoes in a burrito, not big cubes but soft fluffy shredded potatoes, I got gravy added on the inside and it was just perfect! The staff is super sweet too, will forsure be coming back again on my next visits to brookings

Very quaint and cute little house turn into a restaurant. Very popular, super crowded, but it didn’t take away from the quality of the food or the people there. The food was absolutely amazing. Definitely try this place when you’re in Brookings!

The best breakfast burrito I’ve had in a long time (I got the atomic). Combine that with incredible coffee (visit kissing rock roasters if you can) and a great atmosphere, I can’t recommend this place enough.

If you are looking and hungry for an amazing breakfast, Compass Rose Cafe is a must stop in Brookings, Oregon. The food is so very delicious and very well prepared at a reasonable price. Service was fast and I did not have to wait long. The staff were so friendly and polite. The atmosphere of the cafe was very inviting. It was very comfortable. I stayed after I finished my breakfast and enjoyed drinking my Mocha which was also prepared very well. Everything Compass Rose Cafe puts out is of high quality from the ingredients to the staffing.

After reading all the great reviews about this place I really had to come here. I was not impressed with their food at all! I bought a chocolate croissant and it was so dried out I could barely choke it down. Day old perhaps? The place is really clean and cute but they don’t put any prices for their pastries or their daily specials. Why don’t you list the prices on your board? A little deceiving i think. Also, I ordered the French toast and it was the thinnest bread and burnt. Come on chef, you burn the French toast?! It was $8 for a tiny portion and not tasty at all. The only good thing was their iced Mexi mocha, that actually tasted good.
My final answer…overpriced food, underwhelming and not that good of food for the prices. Go somewhere else.

Edit- since I can’t reply to the owners review….yes, I did eat it all on my plate despite the poor quality and dried out pastry. After all, we paid a pretty penny for bland food and no, I wasn’t going to complain to a manager and get more bland food, whats the point. I was hungry lol. I want people to know there are much cheaper better restaurants for breakfast in the area that don’t have dried out pastries and list their prices. Lol my personal favorite for donuts and pastries is Honeybee Bakery up the road, their pastries are fresh and yummy for days after. Sorry, but you missed the mark for me and by not listing your prices on the board or for pastries is just “tricking” people into buying them. I still don’t have a clue how much my croissant was LOL, I thought maybe $2 but I bet it was much higher after spending $45 for a tiny plate of French toast, a dried out croissant, 2 coffees and a breakfast burrito. Rip off! Guess I’m not in Texas anymore not Texas size plates for cheap.

The avocado toast, berries, and coffee were nurturing, nutritious and filling! The vibe of the cafe was SO comfy and cozy. A perfect start to the morning continuing with our road trip. It was the perfect little spot. My partner and I were big fans.

Cozy coffee shop, clearly well visited by locals and tourists alike. Service was friendly. We ordered a bagel and breakfast burrito (no drinks) and waited 30+ minutes for our items. It was also $30+ for the two breakfast items. We always try to support local while traveling- and while the breakfast was tasty, it wasn’t quite tasty enough for the long wait and price tag attached.

Great coffee, friendly staff, and cozy environment. I came in to read by myself. Around me were couples playing cards, someone working quietly on their laptop, and servers making friendly conversation with patrons. Worth a stop if you have the time!

The people serving were absolutely delightful! My sister, my mom, and I can all vouch for that. We showed up a little late, yet not once did we feel rushed or pressured — the ambiance of the café was so comforting and soothing, it immediately put us at ease.

My sister and I even got to play a game of Mancala they had available there — how fun is that? And then came my coffee… topped with the most adorable kitty design crafted by one of their talented baristas! I was honestly in awe of her artistry.

The fruit was incredibly fresh — it tasted organic and full of flavor — and the prices were exceptional for the quality and care you receive. As someone who’s highly sensitive to dairy and gluten, I was so relieved (and grateful!) that they accommodated me so easily.

To make the experience even sweeter, we were celebrating all our birthdays that weekend, and they surprised us with a fresh-baked treat from their display — on the house! It was the perfect touch to an already magical visit.

I’ll definitely be coming back — this café has officially become my number one spot! ☕✨ I left feeling so happy, full, and completely on cloud nine!
