Jewel of South Charleston on hwy 17. Parking is a trick. In front of restaurant no fee. We ordered the Florentine omelette, white chocolate bread pudding pancake, biscuits n gravy with eggs and a side of chicken. The biscuits defy gravity and are incredibly flavorful. Coffee was excellent. Sausage Gravy was delicious with lots of sausage. Fried chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, lightly salted without the after taste or burning tongue. Highly recommend a stop if your in the area! Our waiter, Andre was precious and quite informative about history of Charleston and restaurant.

Such a great breakfast! The beignets were very light and not too dense. I ordered the very berry stuffed french toast which was fabulous! I will say that the cheesecake filling was a little bit too much, but other than that, it was perfect! My boyfriend really enjoyed the fried chicken and noted that it had a perfect amount of spiciness. Likewise, the juiciness of the chicken on mix and match was also very memorable, same with the sauce.

Every time we go to Charleston we always take a morning to go to Ruby Sunshine either downtown Charleston near the market or in the West Ashley area. The food is always great with plenty of options. I believe it’s Louisiana inspired so there are some fun unique dishes to try. One of my favorites is the Shrimp Bayou Benedict. Omelettes are always a good choice with the option to create your own, I love their stuffed French toast as well. Go check them out, and make sure you’re hungry because the portions are big! Enjoy!

We placed a pickup order through their online system, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. We ordered the French toast bites, which are supposed to come with two sauces—neither sauce was included. We also ordered a Pick Two Bennie, and somehow neither Bennie came with any of their respective sauces (the pork sauce and the hollandaise). To make it worse, the bacon Bennie didn’t even come with the bacon.
We tried calling the restaurant three separate times before driving back, but no one answered the phone. When we arrived, there were only two tables of customers inside and several employees sitting around at tables, so it’s not like they were overwhelmed or too busy to pick up.
When we asked for the missing items, it was obvious they didn’t even have the sauces ready, since we had to wait while they made them. When they finally brought out the ingredients and sauces, there was no explanation and no offer of any concession despite the mistakes and the inconvenience of having to return.
This was our first visit, and it was honestly very disappointing. While the food tasted good once it was actually complete, the lack of attention to detail and the poor service make it hard to justify coming back. We won’t be returning.

Had another really good experience here. The breakfast tacos is now my new favorite thing. I find myself coming back here because I really am thankful of the customer service skills of one person in particular and it’s Danielle. She truly makes it her business to ensure my food and drinks are always to satisfaction and I get a good laugh with her every time. Don’t lose this gem you have as she’s the reason I come back time over time.

I had a very nice experience here at Ruby Sunshine. It wasn’t busy because it’s Tuesday, but the waitress was very nice and the food was awesome. We had Gulf Shrimp omelette, beignets, and the Ooh Bae stuffed French toast. The French toast was my least favorite because of the popping boba beads, but tasty. Overall our waitress Danyelle made it a very nice experience

Wow! What a fantastic fun evening at Ruby Sunshines in West Ashley. When we arrived for the samplings they had a variety of drinks lined up on the bar which included a watermelon drink, a blood orange morning margarita and my favorite was their special Mimosas.
As we were sitting enjoying our cocktails they started bringing samples for us to indulge in. First up was their Strawberry beignets. Also shrimp and grits, very merry
stuffed french toast, and their loaded tots. What a fun time for all in attendance. The manager and staff were fast, efficient, and super friendly. So if you have not been here yet, please do I am sure you will love it

Quiet on a weekday, nice atmosphere, and our server was very nice. The omelette was decent and the biscuit and butter was good. It was a little crumbly for me but I think that’s just preference.
