Old small town feel and service!

We stopped in because it is quaint and old country looking in the historic center of Montgomery. The service and food matched!

The waitresses are friendly and prompt. There is more seating than it appears. We saw people outside because we thought it would be a wait, but it was just people hanging out and talking on a Sunday morning.

Beware, the servings are large!!! Ordered two breakfast tacos ($5 each) and two hot cakes. The tacos were HUGE. I didn’t even make it to the hot cakes. My wife got an omelette and could only eat half.

Food was fresh and amazing. Can’t wait to go back for their dinner!

The wife and I visited for the first time today for breakfast. This is a mom and pop steakhouse that is in love with The Duke. John Wayne memorabilia, as well as the Texas and US flag were the decor. As a retired military service member, its refreshing to see a place that has a love for America. The food and service was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. Everyone was super polite and respectful. I can hardly wait to come back, and I’m still sitting at the table!

What a breakfast ! 8oz sirloin with 2 sunny side eggs , side biscuit with a heaping cup of sausage gravy and a side of grits. Finished off with a fresh cup of coffee. Ann thank you for your outstanding service. It’s nice when you go out and feel so welcomed. I’ll be back to try those breakfast tacos next !

We don’t feel we recieved quality food for the price we paid. The ribeye was a sirloin disguised as a ribeye and was super tough, the brisket was dry. The sides were all very good which is why I still gave it 3 stars

Montgomery Steakhouse – We have been dining here since 1999. I must say that they offer fantastic food and wonderful service. Be sure to try the Fried Shrimp or the New York Steak Sandwich. Both are excellent!!! My wife adores the Chicken & Dumplings. This is one of our favorite spots, and we encourage you to make it yours.

Kept reading reviews about the breakfast taco and how good it was. Did not dissapoint. That taco was delicious. We also had chicken fried steak. This was a little less desirable. It was good and very tender. I could cut it with my fork. Only complaint is it lacked flavor. Kind of bland IMO. Wait staff was very courteous. We will go back someday when we are in town.
