My partner and I visited Stone Groove Stillhouse on January 15th and were thoroughly impressed. They use sonic energy to shape whiskey flavors through their proprietary music process.
We tried the “Sample Tracks” flight featuring all four house whiskeys. Owners Jeff and Christa were incredibly informative, explaining the why behind their decision to open and the fascinating science connecting music and spirits. My favorite was the Classic Rock Rye, though the Jazz Fusion Single Malt had the sweetest profile. The cocktails were amazing and worth visiting for too.
Don’t overlook the food here it’s restaurant-quality. The Harissa Prime Steak was delicious, perfectly cooked with a rich wine demi-glace. The Mushroom Chips are a must try with their nice spiciness. Even small details shine they use ice sourced from Japan because water quality matters at every level.
The Verdict, Stone Groove combines serious craft spirits with a from scratch kitchen and passionate, knowledgeable owners. Whether you’re a whiskey enthusiast or just want a great meal in Anaheim, this place delivers. Highly recommended, we will be back.
The music-agitated whiskey might seem like a gimmick, but you can’t deny the difference in flavor and depth.
The ambience of this place is great. Music sounds incredible. Staff are informative and friendly. Food is great.
You actually cannot get better than this.
This establishment of artisan wizardry makes me proud to be a human in times where science and art collide to deliver an experience that delights the senses.
The music, the spirits, the atmosphere, the food, the cocktails and best of all the service was superb.
We started with the stone groove flight so we could sample the Musically Mastered spirits and what an incredible ride and concept. All great and can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
If getting to experience the most interesting concept for spirits literally ever wasn’t enough, enter the burger which was amazing and then buckle in for some cocktails that are masterpieces in their own right. You won’t be disappointed in the least in the perfected Old Fashioned but if you are game for something on the sweet side and created using innovative and masterful methods, order the Tragic Kingdom. Do it. You will not be disappointed.
The chef’s kiss to this entire evening was the talented and passionate staff who were welcoming and engaging to the perfect level who really made the entire experience. We were greeted at the door by our hosts whom I very much regret not grabbing their names too but the gentlemen was the mastermind/owner genius behind this all and the wonderful lady we got to chat with throughout the evening were so friendly that we knew upon arrival that we landed somewhere special.
A huge thank you to Sean, Gabby and Peter for being so conscientious and providing such a high-level of service the entire evening. We learned a lot about the process of how you distill and the love and passion for your craft was front and center the from start to finish.
So happy we found this gem and can’t wait to return and expose others to this entire experience!
After being seated, we waited approximately 15 minutes before a waitress even acknowledged us. Once she finally took our drink order, it took another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Already off to a slow start, we then ordered dinner from the extremely limited three-entrée menu, keeping it simple with burgers.
We barely finished eating when the waitress immediately dropped off the check—without asking if we wanted dessert, another round of drinks, or anything else. Moments later, a different waitress approached us and told us we needed to leave due to a “private party.”
Here’s where things became especially troubling: we were the only table asked to leave. We stepped outside and sat near the entrance for about 30 minutes, listening to the live music. During that entire time, no other guests were asked to leave, nor did any private party arrive.
Given the circumstances, it’s impossible to ignore the fact that we were the only Black couple in the establishment. The service was dismissive, rushed, and ultimately felt discriminatory.
This was not just poor hospitality—it was an uncomfortable and upsetting experience. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting respectful service or a welcoming atmosphere
The employees here are the most passionate I have ever encountered. One of them was so much so that I asked if he owned the business and he said no.
This place is special and I can’t wait to go back.
