Absolutely delicious Pasta Tim is the truth with this hibachi!! My family literally goes to him at least twice a week, and that’s “at least” lol. I came all the way from LA to visit my mom for Christmas and the first thing I could think about was Tim’s food. I could not wait to taste it again! This is a must eat!! The food is spot on! I’m sad we didn’t find this place earlier while we worked in Memphis.
The veggies are well cooked and not super wilty. The shrimp has a great char to it.

Today was my last day supporting this business. $10 for six small pieces of shrimp (picture shows 5 because I ate one to see if maybe they were lined with gold for it to be $1.82 per shrimp) is egregious and just downright greedy. I’ve noticed that the portions have shrunk and yet the prices have increased. To have 3 pieces of broccoli, 7 pieces of carrots, 4 pieces of squash and a smidge of onion is truly disappointing and unacceptable. No, I don’t expect to be fed like I’m on an episode of my 600 pound life but by all means be reasonable. It’s a business, you expect to profit, I get it but this is pure greed.

Pastor Tim is great. The food is better than 98% of the hibachi places in Memphis according to someone who grew up with a Japanese grandma’s cooking. The wait times are king, as this is a startup/pop up kitchen with a small crew. They do there best to give honest wait times when you order and are very nice when picking up. He had me try it before I left to give feedback and make sure that everything was good. My wife is a picky eater especially when it comes to Japanese style fried rice. This place has good flavors with a bit of soul on top. The prices are fair and similar to other restaurants. They’re a great local business to support. They aren’t perfect but are worth trying.

Today was my first time ordering via Uber eats and I have to say my food was sooo delicious. I had the steak and shrimp hibachi. My food was seasoned very well and the portions were also good. This will definitely not be the last time I order from here. Highly recommended!

Where do I start? From the very first encounter with Hood Hibachi; it was indeed a pleasure. Tim is not only professional and humble his is an outstanding chef. I reached out to Tim a few days before my daughter’s grad party and he came through. This is the absolute best Hibachi I have ever had. All of our guests were ranting and raving about his rice. Thank you Hood Hibachi for your stellar service and EXCELLENT food. My family is a family of cooks and we know Good FOOD! Book Him! You will not be disappointed.

As a Chef, I truly enjoyed every aspect of this experience. Hood Hibachi is part of a Kitchen Co-Op, which was one the best things I’ve seen in Memphis… oh and Preacha Tim food was on point!!!

If you like hibachi and you have not been here you are missing out. It’s true it is just a take out spot, however Preacha Tim knows exactly what he is doing. I would eat here everyday if I could. Easily one of the best hibachi meals I have ever eaten, every single time I eat here.
Always tastes fresh. Always hot. Be warned, when he says the food is spicy he is not playing. It will light you up. Enjoy!
