Late night hunger drove us to this nearby Cafe for a quick fix.

Liked the easy process of ordering food by scanning barcode at table.

However, food was only acceptable. While Mongolian Salmon Bowl was up to standard. My Beef Stew was extremely salty, I needed to drink plenty of water all night long.

The food was phenomenal, no notes. The portion of miso was bigger than expected for a side, and the crispy shrimp with the tangy sauce was very elevated.

The pork belly had this good flavor with a nice bit of fat to really take the dish to the next level.

What caught my eye at Cafe De Lasie was the promise of delicious pork belly buns—a must-try for any fan of the dish. I was pleased to discover that they’re a partner with American Airlines Dining, which made the visit even more appealing.
Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and patient as we made our selections. We decided on the 6-pack of buns and the cheesesteak eggrolls to get a good feel for their menu. The location is great, situated on a corner right across from a parking garage, with some paid street parking available.
The buns were the star of the show. We tried a variety, and the honey Sriracha chicken buns were the absolute favorite. The flavor was incredible—just the right amount of heat from the Sriracha, balanced perfectly by a hint of honey. The pork belly buns were also flavorful and satisfying. While the shrimp and tofu buns were decent, I wasn’t a fan of the sauce on the shrimp.
However, I’d recommend skipping the cheesesteak eggrolls. They were extremely greasy and didn’t live up to the standard set by the buns.
The next time I visit, I’m definitely going straight for a full order of the chicken and pork belly buns. I also noticed the bowls on the menu and they looked delicious, so I’ll be sure to give one a try next time, too.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back for more of those amazing buns!

Delicious steamed buns. Stopped in for lunch on a work trip and had bao I’ll be thinking about for weeks when I get back to the Midwest.

Good service, decent atmosphere – very “trendy lunch spot in downtown” vibes but not super tiny or expensive.

The staff was super friendly. It was not busy at the time we went. Real chill. Just after lunch time. The seating was interesting as there was no cushions. Just hard wood on the benches and the chairs. The pricing was probably reasonable for the area. For 2 people it was about $45 including 15% tip at checkout. I normally would do 20 but they’re not giving you table service. We got 2 sandwiches. Honey Sriracha Chicken Po Boy. Very good. A little spicy. The Fried Shrimp Po Boy. Tasty but spicier than expected. Lit our mouths on fire. Which I’m a fan of. Then Texas Toast and Togarashi Fries. The toast was good. The fries were better especially with the dipping sauce. Followed that with a custom bubble tea and fruit tea. Personally not a fan of bubble tea so can’t really speak on it, but I loved the peachy mango w/black tea.
Would definitely go back. Check it out if you’re in the area.

OMG! So good! I ate the whole bowl of Bò Kho. The meat was so tender and juicy. The whole bowl just was fire! I highly suggest.

Cute fast casual restaurant. My (chicken) bahn mi sandwich was pretty good. My daughter said her burger was amazing. The steamed bun with chicken sriracha was very tasty. The taro cheesecake was okay. Taro is one of my favorite flavors ever, and I was a little disappointed. However, the Vietnamese iced coffee was horrible and undrinkable. What a waste of too many dollars! I’ve had Vietnamese coffee from so many different places, and I don’t know how this was supposed to be the same drink.

Café de L’Asie’s rice and bulgogi bowls are pure bliss! Tender, flavorful bulgogi over perfect rice, topped with fresh veggies. A crave-worthy combo—extremely satisfying and oh-so-delicious!

The perfect order: two steamed buns and togarashi fries. I did the pork belly and fried shrimp buns, and will be returning to try the others. The perfect amount of food for less than $15!
I loved the lemon truffle aioli that comes with the togarashi fries. The serving is pretty big too, perfect for sharing between two people (which I did not, but trust me, none went uneaten!)
The steamed buns were pillowy soft with great flavors. The fried shrimp bun is spicy as a heads up, but still delicious. I’m on the fence about how I feel about pork belly, but the pork belly bun was spectacular, complimented perfectly with pickled veggies.
Don’t sleep on this place!
