I know it was a busy Friday night because its a weekend and there is a car show in town, but the service and time it took to get my food is UNACCEPTABLE! Plus they got my order wrong twice!!
I arrived about 6:15 pm to sit at the bar, get a beer and order food to go for my wife, son and myself. A bartender served me quicker than I was expecting for how busy it was, which I was initially impressed. But my first clue this was not a good place was I asked for a beer they had in the glass door beer cooler, and the bartender looked utterly confused and had to ask me two more times what I said. It was a bottle of Haufbrau beer that was directly in front of me in the wall cooler. I had to say the name twice and got looked at like I had lobsters coming out of my ears. I finally said, “the bottle with the HB on the blue shield right behind you.” She brought it to me and half jokingly said, “I don’t speak that language.” Wow. A German beer they carry and she didn’t know the name of a beer they stock, in a city that celebrates German culture every year at the Gemuetlichkeit Days festival. That was a clear red flag for how the rest of my night would go.
So I ordered my food when she gave me the beer. I DISTINCTLY asked for TWO gyros BOTH with fries, ONE with NO tomatoes. I paused to let her write it on her pad, then asked for a cheeseburger, plain, no fries, all to go. She put in the order around 6:18 or so. A guy to my left ordered some food to go shortly after I did. He seemed like a regular as the staff knew him. I drank my beer and was talking to the guy next to me about the college football game on the TV. All was normal, and I expected it might be a little while until I get my food, as busy as it was, but I knew the gyros shouldn’t take long to make, and only the burger should longer.
Fast forward about 30-40 minutes, and the bartender brought me out a plate with gyros and fries and said my name and asked if that was my order, but she looked unsure. I said my whole order was to go, so she reacted like, “I thought so” and brought the plate back to the kitchen. That is when I started to really observe what was going on behind the bar and what I could see of the kitchen. About 7:04 I saw four pizzas just sitting there for a good 5+ minutes (I was watching the time on my phone and texting my wife since they were waiting for me to return with the food). I finally saw the pizzas go out at 7:11 and I said to myself, “I know they are busy, but letting food sit that long is not good.” And I started to get annoyed as I had been there almost an hour now. Shortly after this I see a bag of food is sitting where the pizzas were. All this time, lots of people were coming in to get to go orders, and I’m still waiting. Then around 7:18 the guy next to me got his food and left. And now I’m getting VERY upset as I’ve been here now over an hour and still don’t have my food. Shortly after this, about 7:22 (I know the times because I’m messaging my wife what is going on), I still see that bag of food sitting in the kitchen. It looked to have three items in it so I’m thinking it might, or SHOULD be mine. But it just sits there. Finally at 7:27 the bartender brings me that bag, which WAS my food, which was sitting there AT LEAST 15 minutes from when I noticed it. The bartending staff walked by it several times while I’m sitting there waiting. By now the bar is half empty and I’m furious. I leave giving no tip and writing on the receipt how upset I am for waiting so long to get my food when someone who ordered about the same time I did was gone almost 10 minutes ago. I wanted to check the food but I’m so pissed I just leave.
When I got home, both gyros have tomatoes on it, and one has no fries, even though I asked for fries with both. So I got ripped off the $2 for fries on the order, and the fries were soggy as hell.
Needless to say, I’m NEVER going back there again. I was patient because it was busy, but that doesn’t excuse the wrong order and long wait.
We ordered and didn’t get the potato ($10) so I didn’t get my dinner.
The house wrap or whatever it’s called was so spicy my daughter couldn’t eat it. No where on the menu does it say anything about it being spicy. In fact, their entire menu is vague. It doesn’t show what comes on anything which is really annoying.
Now on to the fried foods we got.
Our order took probably close to an hour and a half for delivery so by the time our cheese curds, mozzarella sticks, and mini tacos got to our house that is 2 mins away, the cheese curds were like rubber, the mozzarella sticks were hard and it was like eating a cold cheese stick. The mini tacos were pretty gross too.
My husband did seem to enjoy his burger. So that’s one person out of three that had a good dinner from here last night.
Their long delivery times have always been an issue for as long as we’ve ever ordered.
But last night was ridiculous and a complete waste of money.
I will never spend good money on bad food here again, especially because this isn’t the first time they’ve missed out and sent us incomplete orders and cold food.
I called back and it sounded like the same woman, so I asked to speak with a manager. There was a pause then she said she was. The woman I talked to on the phone was very rude and argued with me the whole time and told me the cook said he knows there was sauce on the wings and there was nothing she could do for me. I told her my wife and I eat there frequently and love their food and I never had an issue til now. All I wanted was my food I ordered. She said she couldn’t do anything for me. I told her that they just lost our whole family as customers and she said ” oh well.” Who does that? That is definitely not someone who should be working in the service industry. I feel like she should be fired! Attached is a photo of the dry wings.
