We came for the buffet, but were not aware it is only on Sundays. We’ve been curious about this place for a while, so decided to still try their food.

1. House Spaghetti – big portion, not too sweet. We liked it, but didn’t think anything special about it just because we have a jollibee spaghetti bias.
2. Lechon Kawali – this was super good! We really liked the sauce. The pork was crispy and soft at the same time. Def recommend.
3. Garlic Rice – always good!
4. The restaurant also looks cool with a chill vibe and the servers were very nice.

We will def come back on a Sunday to try the buffet.

I love the atmosphere! Feels like I’m in the Philippines again, it’s been a while since a Filipino restaurant hit this different! The Halo Halo was so big perfect for 4 people! The food comes out hot and the decorations are so nice, the ambiance is a 10/10! I recommend this restaurant perfect for small date or a get together! Second time coming and the menu has a wide variety, bathrooms are also so clean the portraits are so funny.

We’re thrilled to have a new option for Filipino food in the Newark/Fremont area. Timog is located inside the Lion Newark Shopping Center, right next to the Lion Food Supermarket. The decor and atmosphere is 5-stars as you can see the attached images.

We were celebrating a birthday with a party of 12 on a Thursday night. Not very busy that night but only one server, who did a great job hustling between the parties in the restaurant.

Food was good overall. Most of us agreed that the best dishes were the lechon kawali, ginataang sitaw at kalbasa and pork sisig. The pancit bihon was okay but a little bland. We were very full so we didn’t try halo halo for dessert but saw a family sharing a huge glass at another table.

Overall, it was a very good experience. We will definitely be back for a group dinner.

Let me start by saying that their dishes are one of a kind. The flavor in each dish is on point. What was ordered are the following and I have to apologize for the photos, we ended up devouring the food and totally forgot to that before photos.

DINAKDAKAN – the charbroiled taste of the pork is nicely flavored with the seasoning and ingredients. Perfect spice added sealed the deal for me

CRISPY PALABOK – Amazing!

BANGUS SISIG – perfectly balanced in flavor. You won’t have anything to take home since you can’t get enough of the flavor.

CHICHARON BULAKLAK – we all know you can’t mess this up but believe it or not other places managed to do so, but not TIMOG! You’ll end up ordering a beer or two with it. Make sure you’re not driving! lol

PARES NI ENTENG – Ok, this has to be my favorite one amongst all of the above. Meat is beautifully prepared and seasoned. They don’t skimp on the type of meat they use. They have massive amount of beef tendons with it too that melts in your mouth. Order it and thank me later.

HALO HALO CLASSIC – don’t be fooled by the name classic. It’s a special mixture of our favorite halo halo. Ingredients are fresh and never frozen. They prepare it once you order it and it’s not readily available in the fridge like other places. I was never a fan of beans in my halo halo and requested not to have any on mine. Request granted! Prang genie lang sila. Hahahaha
Oh and also it’s HUGEEEEE! Don’t be greedy and bring a friend or two to share this amazing hunk a cup! Its size is bigger than my face.

To end this review, I must say that service is beyond amazing. They sure are very personable in this joint. They give you their honest opinion about the dishes they have. The owner and chef is very down to earth and so is the whole staff. I will definitely come back to try the rest of the dishes that ran out since we came after 7pm.
Saturdays they have acoustic nights where you get to chill, hang out and get fed.

Dining here is like coming home to your Lola’s kitchen and having her home cooked meal. Again, thank me later.

As Mac Arthur said it ” I SHALL RETURN!”

Filipino food with a modern twist! This spot is located inside the Lion Market Shopping Center, and growing up in the area, I never even knew! It was a nice hidden discovery, and the inside surprised me even more. I looooved the decor!

Food was delicious and very flavorful, reminding me of home cooking. I will be honest, my adobo was a little oilier than I was used to, but maybe I just have a weak stomach lol. I definitely want to come back to try their other dishes though, it was hard not to order everything on the menu during our visit haha.

They also have an AYCE Brunch Buffet on Sundays from 11am-3pm and Live Music on Friday/Saturday nights (think laid back, acoustic vibes)

What we ordered:
* Adobo (Pork & Chicken w/ Egg)
* BBQ Pork
* Pares ni Enteng
* Garlic Rice
* Tamarindo Tango

Restaurant that is inside the food center building. Need to enter through the side or front entrance.

Parking possible to the front of the building, can be crowded closer but will be available somewhere in the square.

Clean interior and lovely decor. Loved the painting and light fixtures.

Thoughtful menu with generous portions. All our dishes were great.

1 unisex restroom to the side of the bar.

Buffet open on weekends only. Closed between lunch and dinner time.

Kare Kare volcano was a great culinary experience and delicious! We ordered a bit of everything-ampalaya, sitaw at kalabasa, Pinakbet for veggies. All of it was flavored well and not too salty. The chicken inasal was great for my kids. Halo Halo was huge but good, had a black sesame twist to it.

It was my first time yesterday and was a great experience ☺
a 5 star restaurant with nice ambience, everything brand new, service was great from Morgan, owner is very accommodating with superior quality cooking experience. Restaurant is clean and bathroom was clean and smell good. The food tasted so good, not too salty, not oily, etc.
All fresh, warm and hot from the buffet table. Love their teas and the coffee was so good. I’m glad they have Splenda. Price is worth it. I’ll stop by again and try their weekend buffet.
