The food wasn’t great. I got the prime rib and it was kinda boring and plain.
My partner got a burger medium well and it came out bloody. They told the waiter that they temped it and it was hotter than medium well, but there’s no way. It was rare at best.
We did get potato wedges and those were pretty good.
Again, Isaac the waiter was great.
If you are visiting Fairbanks, Silver Gulch Brewing and Bottling Company needs to be on your itinerary. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are hit with a warm, inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for a great meal. You are immediately greeted by their gift shop, which is worth a browse on its own—they have an excellent selection of everything from T-shirts and growlers to liquors made right here in Alaska.
We arrived with a large party of 10, including four kids, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful; she was attentive, friendly, and notably great with the children, which made the experience relaxing for the adults.
As for the food and drink, they did not disappoint.
The Beer: I started with the 40 Below Stout. It was exceptional—you could distinctly taste the hints of chocolate and raisin.
The Food: The menu boasts a solid variety of fish, steaks, and pasta. I decided on the Miso-Honey glazed NY Strip, and it was delicious.
If I were a local, I would be here often. Since I am here on vacation, I’m just glad I found it. Highly recommended for anyone passing through!
Left paying for one drink that 100% didn’t get the alcohol added (that’s another story) and our app. Our food was over cooked we waited an hour for it to come out wrong and choose to just leave and have McDonalds. We had to wait 30 mins for our server to come back and say the second drink I chose to be out and another 15 mins to be told the next choice was ALSO out. Honestly the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in a while- wouldn’t recommend especially since it’s out of the way. Still upset I didn’t get dessert but I wasn’t ordering something else to be messed up and wait insanely long times for.
Make sure to make a stop!
