STOP EVERYTHING AND COME HERE! Save yourself the 12-hour drive and eat authentic NOLA fare right here in Wichita. I travel a lot. This place is legit.

The pics I posted are half-portions of Jambalaya and Red Beans & Rice. Hubs and I wanted to split them. Restaurant was amazing and served them already split.

We were wary as Wichita has had a slew of mediocre Cajun places masquerading as the real thing. Turns out, the owner’s brother lives there, and it shows. 11 out of 10. Our new favorite restaurant.

I saw this place a weekend or two ago, so I was down wren my husband asked if I wanted to have Cajun food for dinner. We looked at the reviews and decided it was a good idea.

Whoever said the drinks are strong wasn’t kidding. I had a Mango daiquiri, which was delicious, and my husband had a Guinness. The wait staff was pleasant. They bring cornbread to the table while you wait. My husband ordered the blacked catfish and I had Todd’s pasta with blackened chicken.

Both were delicious. The atmosphere was nice and not too loud. With tip we spent ~50.00 each.

We’d go back.

I set up a 5:30 reservation for the wife and I on date night. We were pleasantly surprised at how attentive the staff was. They were on the spot with drink orders and I noticed when I went to the restroom the staff made sure to treat me as a guest. It didn’t matter what they were doing every staff member got out of the way of any customer moving about the restaraunt. My wife really enjoyed her heavy pour Mango daiquiri and I don’t see Guinness often at a restaurant so I was pleased as well. The menu was a little above board on price but my blackened catfish was delicious and tasted fresh not frozen. My wife had Todd’s pasta with blackened chicken. The pasta tasted like Cajun stroganoff with nice chunky mushrooms. The spice level was perfect for our taste but may be a little high for some. Over all we had a good time and enjoyed the experience. We will be back.

Stopped in today for lunch. I sat at the bar and Leah was a big help when I couldn’t decide between drinks or entrees. I had a lemon drop and Jambalaya. Both were wonderful. The service was excellent. I will definitely be back to try the Creole pasta next time

Our servers were great! The Gator bites were good so thought this is going to be the place to come for good Cajun food. Then the blackened fish meal came out, those meals are burnt not blackened. The regular catfish didn’t have any seasoning flavor. I guess Gumbo is the creole meal that is good. However those Fun martinis are worth the trip.
After reading owner response I have to let people know we also had a blackened salmon and it wasn’t good at all. So it wasn’t just “not my jam”, whatever that means. The cooking staff need to work on the “blackened” option as they burnt the food and covered it with “etoufee” and it was not good at all. Just go to Walk-Ons for your Cajun cravings.

The prices were great and reasonable. Definitely will be going back. The hostess remembered our last name and told us to have a good night as we were leaving. We seriously enjoyed our visit.
