I recently had the pleasure of dining here and was blown away by the quality of the food, especially the Butterfly Shrimp and Fish and Chips.

Wow!!! What a great experience… trekked into Canada and found this tucked away eatery down near the water. The staff were very welcoming and provided a great insight as to their menu items. The only thing better than the service and friendliness was the food. Fish & Chips, Lobster Rolls and Poutine were all a hit.

From their soup du jour: Potage au haricot vert, appetizer of fried pickles, and their fish and chip all was exquisite. The fish was fresh and flaky, encased in a light, crispy batter that was fried to perfection. The portion size was generous, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. 5 stars for food quality and quantity, also for service and atmosphere. 100% satisfied! There is plenty of free parking.

A beautiful sunny fall day on the Canadian shore of Lake Champlain just before the Phillipsburg border was reason by word of mouth to visit Resto Gilligan on a Friday afternoon.
Ample parking,the Resto is in a modest yellow cottage which on entry transforms into a bustling French maritime-like bistro . Creativity by 2 Quebec chefs and the delightful owner Helene dominates the menu of Poutines,Seafoods and Burgers The restaurant is open since June 24th 4 years ago and the significance of the date should not go unrecognized The seniors crowd appears to be largely Les bon vivants with an aptitude for degustation accompanied with more than a glass of wine
Their specialty is a large plate of fish and chips. Golden full light batonnets of cod was the overwhelming favorite of the clientele on this day. The soup of the day was a puree of haricot vert that looked delicious. We chose the Phillipsburg Burger, a large beef patty served with Brie,caramelized onions,home made mayo, tomato and pickles.It was delicious by almost every standard but mine. The inability to get a rare burger remains a constant bane of my existence. My wife’s General Tao Poutine was a fresh serving of patates, chicken nuggets in a refined
delicious sweet and sour sauce which also served as a delightful enhancer for my burger.
All in all,the food is promising. I plan to return as much for the food as well as for the ambiance. The place is drooling with that “je ne sais quoi” feeling.
In the summer months, lakeside seating on the deck is also recommended.

Best food I have had at a restaurant in a long time. I took the Pete burger and I wasn’t dissapointed. It isn’t your normal just plain burger, it stands out on its own and the cheese cake is out of this world. The staff are super friendly and wonderful , the prices are the best within two hundred kilometers, and you have a beautiful lake view to enjoy your meal. There is also plenty of parking. I couldn’t be more impressed, thank you for such a treat. Will definitely come back again. P.s ( best date spot I have seen in a long time)
