Everything about this place is so amazing. I can’t wait to go back.

What we got:

Burrata with confit tomato’s, (nut free) basil pesto with a side of crostini – 10/10. The burrata was creamy and delicious. The pesto was vibrant. The confit was sweet but savory adding a lovely touch.

A Really Good Burger – it really was a really good burger. The patty was hearty and cooked to perfections. I added cheese and bacon. The bacon was THICK and delicious, definitely worth the extra money.

First Fries – incredible skin on 3 times blanched fries. You’re able to add on sauces for dipping which is such a nice touch. We got the garlic aioli which was really acidic forward, truffle aioli which was divine with the right about of truffle, and the scallion remoulade which quickly became my fave dip after dip.

Lemonade – it has the perfect balance of sweet but tartness. I could imagine having it on a hot day as a refreshing beverage.

Overall, I highly recommend!!

Every time I have been to First & South, I enjoy a fantastic meal…and every time the experience gets even better than before. I feel as if I stumbled upon this gem while on vacation in 2012, and every few years I go back and take new people with me. Wonderfully creative approachable food, great energy, seamless service, and the impression that your evening is in great hands. Sarah is an enthusiastic entrepreneur who has become a hospitality maestra and NOFO community institution. Why can’t more restaurants deliver on this? #IYKYK

Tuesday night in February, options were limited. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Food was fantastic but cannot compliment the service enough. So lovely all night, but when we became stranded as no cab company or uber would take us back to our hotel, the workers did the absolute most to make sure we got back safely. Great atmosphere (live music), exquisite oysters and tacos, but the welcoming attitude will have us coming back.

GF fish and chips scratched my itch for fried fish. So good. I tried to get a good picture but I inhaled it too quickly. Chicken sandwich for the non-supportive GF…she liked it a lot. Drinks were good. Ashley…great server with great recommendations.

We found First & South to be just okay— the atmosphere was nice and we were seated right away, but after reading so many positive reviews, we were a bit disappointed by our dishes. We ordered the first fries as an appetizer, and the roast chicken, burger, lemon pepper shrimp, and gluten free mac and cheese as entrees. As a table, we agreed we enjoyed our meals, but they felt a bit overpriced. The lemon pepper shrimp was mainly pasta and lacked very much shrimp, which was misleading the menu description. Not a bad experience, but could be better overall!

What an incredible experience we had today at First and South!

It was our first visit, and certainly won’t be the last, thanks to some amazing service by Patrick, great drinks and delicious food!

Highly recommend the miso salmon, as well as the poke bowl!

What initially brought us there was the fact that they’re dog friendly outside and in the bar area (I think I have that correct…) but aside from that, it’s a really cute spot with killer drinks and phenomenal food. Nuff said, don’t take my word for it.

We made a reservation on Resy and got right in. Do the right thing and plan ahead, especially on busy weekends (we went on Memorial Day and still no wait to sit with our reservation).

This is literally all we need when we go out to Greenport with our dog and we’ll definitely be a frequent stop!

My sister and I’s waiter Clint was the best. Kind, cool and funny. We had the best conversations about recommendations for food on the menu and places to go visit around town while visiting, even after the restaurant was closing down for the night. The food and drinks were delicious. I would highly suggest visiting.

My wife and I came here for lunch and had an outstanding experience. I ordered the New England clam chowder, and it was easily one of the best I’ve had—loaded with clams and perfectly balanced without being overly creamy. My wife had the shrimp and lobster sliders, which were fresh, flavorful, and paired perfectly with her Bloody Mary.

But the real standout? The hand-cut fries—crispy, golden, and absolutely delicious! Despite the place being busy, the service was attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Highly recommend!

First thing that won our hearts was the service they provided to our toddler. The waiter heard our child say she was hungry, took the child’s order first and ensured our baby was eating a little after our drinks came out.
Kids menu was banging! Fried chicken was citrusy and well seasoned. The fried shrimp was crispy and flavorful.

Parmesan chicken wings were a little powdery, but perfectly crispy and paired well with the ranch dressing.

Lemon Pepper Shrimp- at first I thought I was only getting two shrimp with my order! Glad to find the rest of those guys swimming at the bottom of that delicious broth.

Tuna Burger- pretty good. Needed more of that sauce though!

Had a lovely experience at First and South in Greenport! I ordered the carrot soup, steak frites, and a peach iced tea infused with bourbon. Every dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared – fresh flavors and satisfying portions. The peach iced tea was especially memorable, with a perfect hint of bourbon that added a unique twist.

The ambiance is charming, fitting well with Greenport’s quaint, small-town feel. As a nonbinary person, I appreciated the gender-neutral bathroom, which was spotless and inclusive. Service was attentive and personable, adding to the overall warmth of the place. Prices were quite reasonable for the quality. One note: the menu on Google Maps could use an update, but it’s easy to overlook with such a great in-person experience.

Visited as part of an MTA Away/LIRR tour, and this spot was a definite highlight!
