This bakery has been around since the 50’s and its easy to understand why when you try their food. We got 4 donuts and 2 cookies at a great price. We try donuts from all over so when we say these were good we mean it. Look at those layers on the butterfly roll!
We are from out of town but will try to be back for more donuts AND to try some of their bread!!

I have been in love with Louie’s Cinnamon Nut Rolls since I was little. At least 40years. I actually like everything they make. The Cinnamon Nut Rolls have just been the favorite from my first visit. I live in BattleCreek. Our Louie’s closed just a very few years ago. I absolutely travel to Marshall for these doughnuts. I would rather have Louie’s over any store bakery or other doughnut shops. #1 In my book!!!

Heard that Louie’s is an institution so we decided to check it out. Got there at 10am Saturday morning and all donuts were sold out, minus a few fry cakes which we happily bought. Also bought some pumpkin cookies. The fry cakes and cookies were delicious! Next time we’ll plan to get there earlier for the donuts.

The best Bakery around, a gem in Marshall so be sure to stop by when you are in down. I love the eclairs and the chocolate drop cookies the most – but the seasonal treats are wonderful for the kiddos, like the cupcake bunnies for Easter or cookie hearts for Vday.
I’m sad they traditionally take the month of my birthday off (july) because I’d love to get my birthday cake from them as well – I already get my kids cakes from them – I just call ahead and they can bake up whatever I need and personalized.

I love this place!!!!! I used to come to this bakery every morning with my grandpa as child and we’d get the nut rolls. Came back recently and they still taste wonderful! Glad they survived through the pandemic!!!!

Known by their famous Nut Roll, my family and I go nuts over their donuts! The food is always fresh and packed full of flavor. Only downside is there is a charge on cards if you spend less than $10. I highly recommend to everyone to try at least once!

First visit to Louie’s Bakery, the lady behind the counter made me feel rushed. While I was trying to pay same lady rolled her eyes, waved her hand at the sign behind her regarding the $10 minimum purchase with a credit card. Again, first time visit, I was looking at the displays, not the signs behind and above displays. With that being said, if she would have handled that with a bit more patience and less attitude I would have purchased the required limit. My doughnuts were good, nothing that makes up for the rudeness they also serve. Next road trip, depending on travel direction, I will keep going and visit Battle Creek or Jackson.

I went for the first time yesterday. I decided to treat myself after an appointment. I was not disappointed. Such a perfect old fashioned bakery. I tired a strawberry Bismarck, a banana cream pie, and a last minute decision eclair. To the guy who got the “last two” eclairs right before they put a new tray out, thank you for the recommendation. I think it was my favorite of the purchases. If he is a regular, please pass on my thanks! In summary, if you’re a baked goods fan, Louie’s is a must try while in Marshall

Okay, first of all, a Marshall ICON. If you’re coming from out of town, they are a MUST have for travelers. It’s a sin if you don’t try Louie’s while you’re in town. They’re been around for so long for a reason. And they’ve always been family owned. They are best known for their nut rolls, but I’m not a huge fan of peanuts but I know tons of people that LOVE them. They have the BEST custard in all the land and I don’t have to try every custard in the world to know that they are the absolute best. And anything with raspberry filling is INCREDIBLE. They had little parfaits with gold flakes on top for Valentine’s day, and I was like daaang Louie, you fancy. They also let you send nut roles or cookies in the mail now in these cute little tins!
