They offer a variety of oysters which prove to be both fresh and delicious. The calamari was great. Both were included in their happy hour discount. Did I mention the service? It was excellent! I highly recommend giving this place a try. We will definitely be returning.

Half Shells is a little neighborhood seafood joint where you can count on a great meal and great service. The menu has Cajun influences. The oyster nachos are an excellent appetizer. The soups will surprise you with how good they are. If you get the fish tacos, ask for one fried and one blackened to experience two flavor profiles. There’s a small bar and some seating outside.

Half Shells was such a pleasant surprise! Tucked away in Snider Plaza, this spot feels like a hidden gem. The oysters were fresh and flavorful (I ordered the Mystic Mermaids), and everything I ordered was well-prepared and delicious. The service was warm and friendly, which made the experience even better. Prices were surprisingly affordable for the quality, and their happy hour deals are hard to beat. Keylin was such a great waitress. She is knowledgeable, responsive and very kind. The food was amazing (as always). This is one of my favorite restaurants. I highly recommend the Lobster Grilled Cheese sandwich and Shrimp and Grits. Today, my husband had the Salmon and I had Shrimp and Grits. We LOVE this place! ❤️

First visit here and everything was delicious!! Our waiter, Arturo, was great and asked if we’d been before. We said no and a manager, Tony, came out to give us a complementary soup sampler for us. I would absolutely recommend this place and we will be back when visiting Dallas again. We had oysters, shrimp nachos (recommended by Arturo) and shrimp tacos.

This is a great spot with seasonal items, such as crawfish! They also have oysters that are farmed and bread specifically for them. It’s really cool because they have a board that they update every day with specials. You can see a video of the board to know what is the special of the day before going on their website, I believe.
My server alley is probably one of the best servers who is very attentive to me, even though she was very busy!
I’ve tried everything from the burger to the fish and I can tell you that there salmon is fantastic!

One of our absolute favorite spots in Dallas! The food, staff, and service are always top notch. We tried the blackened shrimp quesadillas, jalapeño soup, and guacamole nachos, every bite was incredible. The peel-and-eat shrimp are hands-down the best around. Consistently the top choice in Snyder Plaza, highly recommend!!

This is an adorable gem at Snider Plaza. My best friend and I stopped at Half Shells for lunch when we arrived to Dallas from Austin. We were famished so we got to try a few items on the menu. Here’s what I have to say about Half Shells:
Atmosphere: the place is small, cozy and beautifully decorated. The seating is comfortable and appropriately spaced.
Service: Alex was our server. He was incredible. He was hospitable, attentive and came around regularly to check in on us, refill our waters. The food was prepared and brought to us in a timely manner. They also made sure our entrées didn’t arrive while we still had appetizers (personally, I find it a bit overwhelming when everything comes at once and defeats the purpose of having apps and entrées).
Now onto the star of the review:
Food: OMG, that’s all I have to say. No I have more to say, haha!
For appetizers, we ordered the Oyster Nachos and Chargrilled Oysters. The photos don’t do it justice, honestly. The oysters were cooked to perfection and just melted in your mouth. Not overpowering and wonderfully combined with the other ingredients. We were hesitant about trying the soups because we had ordered a lot of food, so Alex later brought us samplers of each soup and omg, I wish I had room for more. I’d consider this my dessert!
For our entrees, I ordered the Seafood Platter and Rainbow Trout. So well done.
Overall, one of the best places I’ve eaten at. I highly recommend you stop by if you’re in Dallas. And for us Austonites, I think it’s worth the drive! 😉
