I’ve seen a lot of reviews of the chai at Tres Gatos so I finally had to try it for myself. I was a little nervous it would be a spicier chai because it was homemade but it was perfect! Still sweet but it tasted like a real tea. I got the iced chai with lavender cold foam which I’d recommend. Excited to come back and try their other cold foam flavors. The hot oatmeal cookie coffee was also good! Staff was friendly and helpful!

On my way to work, my GPS decided to spice up my morning and rerouted me past Tres Gatos. From the outside, the coffee shop looked adorable, so naturally I did some online “research” to prepare myself. Pro tip: their specialty drinks aren’t on the drive-thru menu, so Google menu photos came in clutch.

I ordered a medium iced John Wayne. I originally asked for a large, but the barista kindly warned me that a large iced is 32 ounces—aka a commitment—so I scaled back. The drink was good, though a little lighter on flavor than I prefer (totally a me thing). The cold foam was impressively airy… maybe too airy, as it disappeared within minutes like it had places to be.

Overall, the drink was solid and the barista was super friendly and helpful. I’d definitely go back—just with a different order and maybe a stronger flavor next time.

My mom told me and my sister about this place and she did not let us down!! I got the banana bread chai hot with oat milk…. PHENOMENALL!! Takes the spot as my favorite chai by far!! It had the perfect amount of creaminess and a wonderful banana bread taste. It’s so cute in there and the employees were all so nice! Will definitely be returning soon!

I have been coming here for a few years now to get a chai about 1-2x a week, and have recommended this place to almost anyone that mentions they want to try a coffee shop. This week will be my last week. I ordered a small chai (no alternative milks), and a muffin. The total was $14.50. For $14.50 I could have gotten a whole meal from most restaurants around here. On top of that, the muffin was “warmed,” but it was cold inside and dry, with a burnt taste (which you can kind of see in the picture). If I wanted to pay almost $15 for an overpriced chai and a dry muffin I would have went to Starbucks, but it probably would have been cheaper there! Don’t think I’ll be coming back.

A warm cozy atmosphere with friendly attentive staff that accommodate special requests. The food is great for a coffee shop experience and the coffee is excellent. Recommend asking for double flavor as flavors are generally not intense. ADA accessible restroom is available, dip down close by outdoors, but sitting areas and pathway to restroom would be difficult for someone navigating a wheelchair or other accessibility tools.

The community coffee shop you’ve been looking for has been in Midvale for a long time. Women owned. All staff is trained in understanding of the rich tradition of coffee and staff always have new flavors of classics you love.

Chai latte

Mexican Mocha

Matcha Latte

Splurge sometime and enjoy all three during a work afternoon you want to be out of your house or office and want to have that hometown American community coffee shop experience!

Was wanting to make this place my new coffee spot in efforts to support small local business in my neighborhood. Unfortunately after my 2nd visit, I won’t be returning due to the fact my dog was not welcomed when we stopped in for a drink & a pastry. The cashier was super friendly & lovely during ourSunday stroll. The girl who informed me my senior dog was not allowed in there was doing her job, I get it, but you interrupted my ordering then proceeded to monitor the transaction between the cashier & I as if you were trying to make a statement. I told her we will wait outside, which is actually humiliating. I considered just not ordering, then canceling my order for a refund but I just took my drink then went back to my stroll w my dog. If that’s the case, open a order window instead of telling locals their pets aren’t allowed then make them go outside. A small business should be setting themselves a part from big franchises. I did not tip bc why were you trying to intimidate me when paying for my order? Was it because I’m a brown skinned Native American w a white & brown pit mix? Do better. That whole experience was uncomfortable being monitored like I’m some type of threat w my 12 year-old dog then waiting outside like an outcast. Treat your locals better!

Response to owner:
Your customer service is actually horrendous & I expected a backhanded reply from you based on the other replies you gave to other past negative experience reviews. Stating your native too is not helping your case in defending the watchful eye of my every move after I was compliant in what I was told and very dismissive in how this manner is being handled. I can understand your use of excuses and victimization, but the lack of appropriate conduct to neighboring locals says a lot.

Stopped in for a coffee today, and Brooklyn and Delaney helped me, and they did an amazing job because oh my God it was AMAZING! I got the almond joy mocha, and it was one of the best coffees I’ve ever had! Such a cute place, with fun baristas, and great vibes!

The owner is awesome, staff are super friendly and nice and chill. This place is like hanging out at my friend’s house after a long day.

You know how Starbucks feels business and laptops and meetings and no friends hangout out. No family’s at Starbucks, no family’s at dunken donuts. This is the place you go and take some time off from life while eating yummy snacks and drinking good coffee.

For every coffee you buy, a kitten is born into a loving family… are you the kind of person who doesn’t want that? Case closed, Tres Gatos Coffee for the wiiiinnnn!!!

Came here for the first time on a quiet Wednesday afternoon with a friend. The shop is small with little indoor seating, but offers some seating outdoors. It seems to be more of a drive thru shop (which they offer) moreso than a sit down shop. They have a large selection of drinks for every kind of coffee lover. There’s baked goods and sandwiches as well. Staff was friendly and keen to offer recommendations. I ordered one of their skinny lattes and it was pretty good. The bathroom looked generally clean, which is how I determine how clean a place is. So thumbs up! The shop has a lot of character so you can tell the staff and the owner value character and a certain ambiance. I’m sure I’ll hit up the shop again at some point.
