This is how Chinese food should taste like. We got clay pot crabs with vermicelli, fried flounder and salt and pepper pork ribs. The price was reasonable and portions were good enough for 3-4 people.

There are 3 things that are consistent here

1. Good and authentic Canto food
2. Bad service
3. Rude owner (the lady at the front desk), unless you are one of her regular.

I asked if I could look at the menu while I waited to be seated. Her reply ‘NO, sigh and walked away.

We waited 15 minutes for a table which confused me because there were multiple empty tables inside.

The rest of my guests show up after I was seated. The owner happened to walked by and recognized one of my guest because “he is a regular”. She walked toward my guest and said let me give you this table instead, it is bigger and roomier. What?! She could have give me that table instead of making me wait. Then she walked away like I didn’t exist.

As for food: all are very good especially the herbal soup and fried quails.

A wonderful deli with home-like Cantonese and other Chinese cuisine, at reasonable affordable budget, the customer service is a plus to bring you a dinner with family or business parties to an unexpected full satisfaction. A must try and have surprise. Pork, roasted pigeons, chicken, beef, various kinds of seafood and fish, etc., promptly presented at your choice ! Beat your hunger !

This is my parents go-to place when they first moved to San Francisco in the early 2000s. It’s good to see the place is still open. The food is still good, and I would recommend giving them a try. I would caution that you use their letter/number combinations when ordering – the person we spoke to spoke neither English nor Mandarin. We were lucky that my wife speaks Cantonese. Your mileage may vary.

Plan to come early or reserve a table at this bustling Cantonese mainstay. The venue is filled with the chatter of families gathered over good food. The portions are large and service is fast. My family especially enjoy stewed soup 燉湯 (limited availability), the fried squab 炸乳鴿, giant clam, and eggplant 海味茄子, among others. The menu is in Chinese and English with some captioned entree pictures. Hope to return for a long time to come.

I’m writing a really stellar but horrible review for this restaurant, and y’all are going to get one star from me, for the response given to our party of 11. Not only were we not seated had we made a reservation for a table of 11 at 7pm on a Saturday night, but our reservation was given to someone else that didn’t EVEN MAKE ONE.

On top of that, they also blamed us saying that we didn’t communicate with them ahead of time, and that we were the ones being really disorganized with our party, when in reality, THEY messed up our party for another party.

If you’re not able to keep your guarantee that you’re able to seat a big party, then don’t even bother giving a good impression that you CAN. I will not be supporting this establishment nor would I recommend this place ever to people who want to have a big family dinner here.

Rudest female owner. She screamed at you if you asked her a question whether it’s about a charge or how long to wait for a table. It’s very small and has very limited tables. I overheard a conversation between her and a customer who asked why she charged $2 per person to have brought in birthday cake served in the restaurant. She yelled : of course because she had to provide plates and forks! After waiting for half an hour, we ordered half size steam chicken which was served cold , a steam black bass, spare ribs, roasted pigeon , a traditional Cantonese soup, and Chinese broccoli with garlic. Food were served out to table with an astonishing speed as if everything had been precooked behind the scenes. General speaking, food tasted good except the cold chicken. But I got severe stomach upset 30 minutes after the meal. Ran to restroom non stop and still have stomach problem after two days! Wonder if it’s chicken or the fish or whatever?! Will not recommend this restaurant.

Group of 7 with 3 kids and the bill includes tips which is not acceptable and somewhat force consumers to pay tips, tips culture is definitely questionable in this culture and i don’t think it’s a good practice, all service industry should always provide exceptional service to all people regardless of tips, curry beef belly is like chewing hard beef, 10-12 tables and be prepared to wait for dinner, street parking only.

This place serves traditional Cantonese cuisine with a lot of “wok hei”. What I like the most is that the food ordered is served fast and hot. The prices are reasonable, almost cheap by today’s standards. We tried their slow cooked soup, fried rice, and deep fried squabs (the squab was finger licking good). Overall, it’s a place to unwind and enjoy quick meal on those days you don’t want to cook at home.

Cons:
