The Tsunami Salmon is an absolute must-try. I have had it more than 20 times. The flavors are fresh and delicious. Their udon is perfectly rich and comforting, and the seaweed salad is one of the best. Every dish is made with so much care, and you can taste the difference.
What really makes Gari Sushi special, though, is the people. The owner and his sister run the place almost entirely on their own, and their dedication is unmatched. They treat every customer like family, making each visit feel personal and welcoming.
This place deserves way more attention. If you’re in the area, don’t hesitate—Gari Sushi is a hidden gem that’s worth discovering. Once you try it, you’ll keep coming back. That’s certainly what happened to me.
I asked the owner if he could remake the sushi and he said no, you can cancel the order. I explained that my family had been waiting for an hour and we are very hungry and excited about sushi and he refused to remake the order and gave me the option to either come pick up And eat it mushy or cancel the order and be hungry. I argued that that was terrible service and that we were still very hungry and wanting to get our sushi because we spent 75 The money back it’s about our dinner. He told me to come down and he would remake it.
I got there at 8:01 and was asked to have a seat while he “remade the food”. Less than 10 minutes later, they came out with four “new roles” of sushi And sent me on my way. When I got home, it was very clear that Had not been remade and that they had just reheated the previous rolls. The tempura had no crunch. It was just a big ball of mush. Very disappointing terrible service never coming back.
These businesses take all the good with services like Uber and DoorDash and except none of the bad. At $75 for $10 worth of supplies. This business owner was willing to throw away a long-term customer and future business. Because they’re not willing to own the fact that DoorDash made a mistake and they needed to follow the timeframe on the order or people will have to eat cold food.
Lastly, I called back to request a refund and he refused.
My son got gyoza that was not bad.
I ordered the salmon avocado roll which was ok but really small and probably not something I’d order again. I also got the crunch eel which also just ok but the best out of the 4 rolls my wife and I ordered.
My wife ordered the dynamite roll and the spicy tuna roll. Right off the bat she noticed the tuna was looking way redder than usual and she always gets spicy tuna every time we get sushi. She took a bite and immediately noticed that is tasted fishier than any tuna she’s had. I tasted it and it tasted alright at first but the aftertaste had some kind of strong chemical taste to it and the taste stuck in my mouth throughout the whole meal actually kind of causing my stomach to get a little upset. I took a bite of the ginger hoping that would take the taste out of my mouth but it did not. She couldn’t even finish her rolls, unfortunately they both had the same tuna on it. She attempted to scrape the tuna of but that did not help.
Honestly the worse sushi I’ve had in a very long time. The workers were nice but I think they were short on staff because it did take a long time to get our food and they now serve everything on Styrofoam plates. I was excited to eat here tonight but unfortunately I’d probably never go back after that experience.
Food, delicious! Will be back for sure.
