Good take out experience. I hadn’t been here for several years since service – both dine in and take out – always seemed unreasonably slow and sometimes unfriendly.  Fortunately, this was not the case this time around.  The order was prepared within the estimated time frame and the gentleman who both took and gave me my order was kind and professional. Additionally, food seemed fresh, portions were large, and everything tasted good.

Placed an order in person around 12:30 pm on a Friday for 7 pupusas. Food was ready in about 20 minutes as quoted  The pupusas came packed nicely in a small pizza box.  The 2 chicharron pupusas were separated from the 5 revuelta frijoles pupusas by extra wax paper.  The order came with an 8 oz container of red salsa and quart sized zip-top bag filled very generously with curtido.

Minor gripe – a couple of the revuelta frijoles pupusas were unevenly filled. Cheese was on one side and pork and beans were on the other side.

Ordered 2x Revuelta Papusas for takeout, they were delicious! Lady on the phone was friendly, & I was grateful they took my order even though they were closing in 25min. Food was ready when I got there. Loved that they included utensils, salsa, & curtido (slaw) in my bag!

I spent over $100 on dinner and I tipped. They raised the price ($5 a pupusa)and still jacked me on the filling. All I got was dough. Didn’t taste anything else I was lucky to find some cheese here and there.very disappointing This place “Used to be” good. We won’t be coming back here again. I didn’t even think about checking my receipt for any charges for the “to go” containers…

We have been enjoying meals here for over 35 years. Their food is like going to our abuelitas house to eat. We no longer live nearby but I will still come here because it just doesn’t compare to other places. There’s a reason why they have been here for so long. Everything on the menu is great without the fancy prices other places charge

I remember this restaurant when they were in the Mission almost 50 years ago, after the bars closed, it was packed and buzzing. Now they’re tucked away in a mall with sweet, motherly waitresses and efficient bus staff. The pupusas are big, hearty, hot and delicious with a tangy cabbage salad that compliments the pupusas perfectly. I always order mine grilled a bit longer so the queso oozes out and gets crispy. My Nicaraguan and El Salvadorian friends rave about them as they are handmade, fresh, delicious and inexpensive. I also tried their enchiladas with mole sauce and their special El Zocalo sauce; both delicious, lightly seasoned and perfectly under salted. I’ll try other items but always order an extra pupusa since it’s their specialty. For the haters who ranted about this fine restaurant, three words, Taco Bell gringo.

The prices have increased two to three times from what they were before the pandemic. The pupusas were $2/ea, now they are $6/ea,, and do not taste as good as before. The carne de res soup, seems smaller, and it’s pricier. Oh well, I guess it’s a sign of times.

I am VERY dissapointed at this restaurant. They rip you off, $20 for the 2 pupusas combo. The 4oz caldo de pollo with chicken bones. Watered down salsa was horrible. I won’t be going this place!!!!!
