Drive thru only. The woman working the window was nice. Somewhat of a wait but you could probably call ahead. Chicken was good and portions were great. Unfortunately the crab rangoon was terrible in my opinion.

Called in an order for pick up. Was told my total would be 43 dollars. Sent my son with 50 dollars to pick it up. He called when he got there and said the total was 68 dollars. I sent him money on venmo and told him to get a receipt. He was told the receipt was in the stapled shut bag. He got home and there was no receipt. Called them for an explanation I was told the difference was due to tax and gratuity. Looked up local tax and it comes in at less than 9 percent. So they added over 25 percent gratuity to a pick up order.
The chicken was overcooked and dry. The food was less than average. I’ve had better general tso’s frozen from Walmart out of the my microwave.

I don’t live in Independence anymore, but even from the West Coast where Asian cuisine is supposed to be top notch, I still think about Golden Rice almost everyday. I love their chicken, and their green beans are so damn good that I forget how much I hated green beans as a kid. Like… I HATED green beans.

This restaurant isn’t open inside, but it is for takeout and it may be for delivery not sure. I ordered the Family Style Bean Curd and spring rolls.
I’m definitely not disappointed in fact I was shocked at how good it is. We’ve had nothing but good food from this place.
Although the place looks like it’s closed when you pull in it’s not, definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for Chinese food!

*Drive through* – Huge portions for cheap prices. I got 2 days worth of large pieces of chicken for $12. And it tastes amazing! This has become my regular Chinese joint. (FYI, its a “hole in the wall” which is another reason I knew itd be phenomenal and SURE ENOUGH it was)

There is simple reason as to why this little Chinese spot tucked away on a corner and seemingly closed has survived many global financial crisis and more recessions since its inception.
It is exactly what it promises to be and more- in an age where you expect the opposite.
From packing meats and rice separately for extremely generous portions to throwing in tons of extra condiments and other sauces- this place has not only earned its spot as a go to location for munchies but as a reason to believe in the American dream and the capability for a business to not screw their customers in a time of extraordinary pain.. but to do their best in the industry they’ve chosen to show people they care if nobody else will.
