My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday here at the Tavern. We’ve always wanted to go and finally the stars lined up. It’s all walk in – no reservations.

Our server – his name is Jacob, was truly amazing. His service from when he greeted us , took our orders in , explained a few things that we had questions about, and his wealth of knowledge about bourbons was super insightful for my husband to decide his birthday drink of choice which was an old forester birthday bourbon! Good service is rare these days so we appreciate it whenever we come across it.

The food was really delicious. We had the plantains for an app. For entrees i had the salmon filet which it was flavorful and juicy. Hubs had a Sausage Orecchiette and he said it was perfectly cooked.

Overall it was a great experience, amazing food and we enjoyed it very much.

As five-star az advertized !̦ thys dining den of a different, more gun-powder_&_Ale era, was the perfect mid-day meet spot. Queen devoured the chowder; dorian carved his way exclammably thru hanger-steak cæser salad (hold the Parmesan !̦ Pete). Service was attentyve w/o being abstrusive; the atmosphere entirely convivial, the assembled patrons abuzz. & the canoodlers of Table 120, in sotto voce, hatched a scheme… , the bill was paid, & Currier Art Museum sampled (@ times ravenously ) forthwith, a cultural bite (or two”̦) of dessert to conclude the sweetest of afternoons. Looking forward to returning/̦ qB

Awesome food and vibes! Stasia was our waitress and she was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She recommended the the Eggs Irish and mushroom burger and they were both delicious. 10/10 experience.

I’ve eaten at the Tavern many times and have been satisfied in the past. On my last visit I ordered the beef/mushroom stew. Although it was delicious, I was appalled at the tiny portion I was served for the price of $26. It couldn’t have been more than 2 cups; mostly gravy with a few tiny pieces of fatty beef, a few carrots and potatoes and very few mushrooms. While I understand why the beef portion was limited, I can’t think of any reason why there were so few vegetables. Vegetables aren’t that costly. The gravy was excellent and I had to fill up with bread and gravy. I felt as if I had ordered from a child’s menu. If you are going to charge that much for an entree, at least include more vegetables. Not sure that I will be returning there.

My family had a little brunch reunion here. The tea, food, and dessert were all beautiful, tasted marvelous, and overall the experience was very memorable.

My aunt felt her food had too much garlic to be palatable and the manager graciously replaced her meal. I felt it was handled very professionally and courteously. We were talked to like people.

Great atmosphere, wasn’t too busy and very welcoming staff. Got the autumn ash cocktail, nice balance of whiskey and smoke. Nothing Id write home about but definitely decent. Short rib grilled cheese was delicious, highly recommend (needed a bit of salt in my opinion). Tavern burger was good too. Parm fries > sweet fries.

Giving it a 4 because of the dessert. I ordered the “pumpkin pecan pie”. It was not a pie, it was a tart with a tablespoon of pumpkin filling with a boat load of pecans. Mentioned the disappointment and misrepresentation to the waiter, but I don’t think he considered removing it from the check.

All in all, it was a pleasant visit, but just ended with a bit of disappointment and surprise after the rest of the meal being so carefully crafted and prepared.

The food was very well done. The decor was cozy and warm. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I would not recommend the peanut butter pie, it lacked flavor and was more of a cheesecake.

Warm Fireplace, Good Food, and Friendly Service

Loved this! Took a late lunch from work (which amounted to an early dinner); and there really wasn’t anyone here, yet.

The Tavern has a very rustic “cabin in the woods,” sort of feel to it; and it was an incredibly relaxing meal from start to finish.

My hamburger was tasty; and the Creme Brulee was wonderful. Yum
