Our Story – Marib Restaurant
Reviews
Service a great! Faris took time to tell us about the menu and recommended an amazing grill combo!
We had grilled lamb chops, chicken, koftah, rice, side salad, fresh pita, and salsas. Two of us couldn’t finish it all!
The flavors were amazing!
I really enjoyed the lentil soup we had with our hummus starter. The soup came out the perfect temperature. Not too hot not too cold legit just right!
I had the shai which was delicious! Black tea with spices.
And Faris was kind enough to give us each a sample of the shai adani , black tea with condensed milk and spices. I’ll for sure order a cup next time. Think chai latte flavor!
We will for sure be back!
Our server was Faris who was so personable and friendly. To start, we had baba ghanoush and lentil soup. It is not an exaggeration to say that this was the best baba ghanoush we ever had, and the soup was great too. Faris was extremely attentive, and the Shai Adeni (Yemeni Chai) he prepared for us was exceptional! It was so lovely that we went to the unaffiliated market next door to see if we can make the tea at home. We then ordered a platter of meats (including lamb kefta and grilled chicken), which was absolutely delicious. I wish I had photos of everything, but we definitely devoured!
The lamb humus, Fahsa in a hot stone bowl, the chicken kabob, the lime and mint drink, and the warm tea with milk and cardamom.
Our waiter was very attentive and offered menu suggestions that were delicious.
We highly recommend and will be back again. We definitely have leftovers, as the portions were generous.
I give Marib Restaurant a 2 thumbs up and must go!
I have had the pleasure of eating at restaurants around the world and this is top notch!
Happy New Year’s to all!
Pros: the food is seasoned well, not bland at all
Cons: you will wait forever til it makes you question if they forgot about you and your food. We sat down and just wait and waited no one came to give us water or anything, until we asked. We had to ask them to take our order. We order baba ganoush with bread,as an appetizer and it never until we asked about and the only waiter had no idea what we were talking about. It finally came and it was very cold and the bread was hard to even pull apart. We ordered the mix grill platter which was seasoned well it came with grill chicken, lamb ( which was so hard to chew, it was well, well well done) and shrimp with rice and sides of dips but it was barely warm, and lamb hattash, which was barely warm. Since we waited over an hr and half for food with 2 toddlers cranky to eat we didn’t say anything. The service is very very slow it’s basically non existent. We didn’t have any plates to eat off of, no extra water, etc.
Save yourself the frustration of being hungry and cranky from being hungry. Go where you will get served.
The place was empty, one or two tables at most. No music or tvs playing. It was very quiet.
The experience is not worth coming here.
