She got the Tunafish sandwich, and I got the turkey sandwich. Something seemed a little off about mine in that it tasted faintly like dish soap. I didn’t think much of it assuming I just wasn’t that hungry, and threw mine out. The wife had no problems with hers at the time too so all good…. Not all good. She ended up all night sick. There was clearly something wrong with our food! My youngest son’s soda bottle smelt like motor oil too, so I don’t know what they’re doing in that place…. changing oil or tires maybe, but definitely not making sandwiches up to health codes.
Have reported this to FINS. Won’t be returning to this establishment.
Re: To the responder below. Hard pass. You get one shot at doing right be the customer. Regardless of what your “recent health inspection report” says, the fact is that your food made someone very sick for almost 24hrs. Not ok.
When Jersey Mikes Sub first opened, I guess I should say a few months after they opened, my mom, cousin, and myself were excited to try a new sandwich shop, I hadn’t been back there since, and that was a few years ago.
We decided it wasn’t worth our time dining there between a terrible sandwich and less than par staff.
My hubby ate there for the first time last week and said his sandwich was decent in taste, and the staff was friendly; that was the cue I needed to re-try this sub shop.
Jersey Mikes isn’t super large; I walked in there and thought, “Wow, this place is crowded,” but after counting the people, there were only five other people.
I didn’t notice any messes on tables or a dirty floor; that’s always a bonus; I know their opening time is at 10 am, and I was there around the noon hour, so there was plenty of time to see unkempt tables or messy counters, but I didn’t see any of that.
Erika was the server that took my order; she was friendly, funny, and chatty.
She told me my bread choices, white or whole wheat, and the bread sizes. I chose six-inch on whole wheat.
According to Jersey Mikes web page,
A mini-sub would feed one person, A standard size sub that would feed two people, and a giant-size sub that would feed three people.
Thinking back on that now, I feel it was a little bit of a misrepresentation because the mini looked about 4 inches, and the standard size sandwich looked around 6 inches, and after deciding on a 6-inch tuna, I can’t imagine two adults really sharing that; I would think that maybe they would be left a little hungry; for that said, at Subway, there are plenty of times I eat about 5 inches and not the full 6 inches of my sandwich, but I usually have it loaded with a lot of vegetables.
Ok, moving on to the sandwich of the hour, which was a 6-inch tuna on wheat bread, she gave me a choice to do it Mike’s way, which are certain toppings including oil and vinegar, or create it my way; I chose my way because the vinegar on a tuna sounds atrocious.
The toppings I chose were lettuce; I prefer spinach (but I didn’t visible see any, so I’m assuming they do not offer that), pickle, onion, and jalapenos.
Erika told me about their sub-club and earning points towards free food; all I had to do was enter my phone number; I figured why not, I paid, Erika thanked me, and I left.
The first thing I noticed about the sandwich was that the wheat bread was a little more on the dry side; even with the tuna fish (that had mayo) and the juice from the pickle and jalapenos, it was still on the drier side, and the other thing, I feel like the sandwich was a little thin on toppings. I think maybe a little high on price, for what I received, but everything has gone up due to our unfortunate circumstances with on-going Covid.
Overall the sandwich was better than my first sandwich with Jersey Mike, not as good as I had hoped, and the employees (at least Erika) will make it easier to return.
Die-hard Jersey Mike customers may come after me for my following comment. The tuna fish reminded me of Subway tuna fish, similar in taste and texture and not too bad in flavor.

I’ve said before in another review; there is one large parking lot that everyone uses; however, I have never been in that area and have not found a parking spot.
