I liked everything about this bar. I’m big into sports and cornhole which they have in an outdoor seating and hang area which wasn’t exactly fully open just yet. The bartenders were fun, engaging, and attentive to our drink orders. We had a group of about 20 before the band came in. The indoor band was definitely loud for the small indoor space since its tail end of winter. We switched venues before it got overcrowded and loud and 10pm rush hit. I will be returning to check out the outdoor “gaming area” when weather turns up the heat.

A group of us visited Charley’s yesterday for lunch and drinks. Our first time and we really liked it! Fun atmosphere! Love the outdoor area! They have live entertainment, corn hole, comfy seating areas, and the service was very good. Our server was handling the establishment on her own and did a great job! We ordered the boat of onion rings, Cobb salad, french dip, burger, and steak sandwich. For drinks we did sangria and a whiskey sour. Both were very good. We will definitely be back for food and the live entertainment.

Probably one of the best dining and bar experiences I’ve ever had.

Stephanie took care of my friend and I and she was very knowledgeable friendly hilarious and we will definitely be back.

We started with the dumplings, which were served over a buttery Asian sauce with a side of soy sauce style dipping sauce. They were phenomenal.

We both decided on the cheesesteak – I subbed for cheddar cheese, and it was one of the best I’ve had… Everything was seasoned down to the bread. I got a side of homemade macaroni salad, which was fresh and made absolutely perfectly with the veggies chopped small. My friend opted for the seasoned fries, which were homemade and perfectly crispy. Yum

The outdoor area is perfect for hanging out or even private parties. You need to stop by and check this place out even if it’s for a quick drink. Thank you stephanie! You really made our experience very enjoyable. Service was 100/10

Love this place. Didn’t eat the food so can’t say much about that. But I can tell you the atmosphere is awesome and live entertainment was spot on! Saw the band Duckface there. Everybody was up singing and dancing and having a blast.

Way cool bar. The outdoor area is top notch with anything you could imagine to enjoy your time here from fire pit, to an outdoor stage, inflatable TV/projector screen, horse shoes, connect 4, corn hole and basket pong to name a bit. Staff was super friendly. Food was sub-par but I didn’t mind the experience as a whole definitely a neat spot worth checking out especially with some nice fall nights on their way.

I have been here a few times, never had the food just stopped in for a few drinks with some friends. It can get very crowded and have somewhat of a claustrophobic feel. Overall my experience has been average.

I’ve been going to Charley’s Tavern for years. I consider it my neighborhood bar. I don’t go frequently but when I do it’s to sit quietly, have a beer and a Tavern sandwich and enjoy the ambiance.

Prior to the remodel/expansion it was sometimes difficult to find a seat at the bar. Since the expansion that’s not as much of a problem since the entire side yard is now a patio. There is a variety of seating on the patio, a glass enclosed area during winter and a sort of outside bar/seating area (no bartender) in a cabana style building. There’s a covered band stand which is frequently used by local bands.

If you’re looking for a comfortable, laid back environment I highly recommend Charley’s Tavern. The only thing that prevented me from giving it 5 stars is the service is a bit spotty on the patio.

Never again. Couple times a month we typically drive 30 mins to Charley’s for lunch or dinner. Today the two girls behind the bar saw us but ignored us for over 10 mins. Apparently if you’re not a regular bar patron you don’t get service. Another couple left with us who experienced the same and also will not be returning.

Had to make a trip to Lake Hopatcong and a few people had told me that Charley’s Tavern is a place to grab a really solid burger while in the area. Stopped in with that in mind and ended up going a different route, but my buddy got the burger and said it was excellent. Our bartender (Stephanie) told me that while their burgers were killer, she preferred the breaded chicken sandwich. Okay Stephanie, I hear you loud and clear.

They have Landshark on tap which is nice, managed to keep myself to only three of those haha. Another bonus was they offer tater tots as a side. Nearly anywhere I go that offers tots, I get tots. Got a side of honey mustard and dipped the tots in them, solid. The chicken sandwich I got was the special, not the menu one so it differed slightly. This one had bacon, BBQ sauce, Provolone, Lettuce, and Tomato.

This was a MASSIVE sandwich. A huge, freshly breaded and fried, chicken cutlet was cut in half to match the shape of the bun as well as possible. I genuinely wasn’t able to get every item on the sandwich in a single bite until about halfway through the sandwich, it was wild. The cutlets were definitely fresh and fried well. If I had to give a criticism, the cutlet by itself didn’t have as much flavor as I would hope. When you added all the other elements to the chicken though, it was a delicious bite.

Had to tack on a shot of Jameson for good measure before waddling back to the car. Charley’s Tavern – Didn’t Suck!
