Where do I even start?! I first walked into 3-21 No Kiddin’ right after they opened, and I was immediately greeted by the most friendly, outgoing, downright awesome human, Bobbie (the owner). She made me and my brother feel welcomed, accepted, and genuinely seen. She had us sample a bunch of options to help us figure out what we liked, and that was my first clue that this place is something special.
This isn’t just a “sober/non-alc” spot. Bobbie carries a whole world of functional drinks for pretty much any mood or need.
Want to wind down after a chaotic day? Grab a Kin (one of my faves). These blends use adaptogens like ashwagandha and rhodiola, nootropics like GABA, L-theanine, 5-HTP, and botanicals like turmeric, ginger, and hibiscus – all designed to relax you without leaving you intoxicated.
Need natural energy without feeling cracked-out? Try one of the drinks with Lion’s Mane for focus and clarity. Or try a Brez branded drink – so good (in flavor and feels)
And then there’s Kava. If you haven’t tried it yet, RUN. It’s a mood enhancer with zero intoxicating effects — honestly feels like the good part of being buzzed, without actually being drunk.
The space itself is sober, safe, warm, and welcoming to everyone. The store is also SHANE certified, which means it’s LGBTQ+ friendly and safe.
And here’s the part that just seals the deal for me: after I’d visited a few times, Bobbie remembered what I liked and what I couldn’t have because of my allergies. She actually started bringing in new brands that were what she calls “Steph Safe.” That right there tells you everything you need to know about how much she cares about her customers.
I think it’s safe to say it:
I love it here.
We were all treated to a impromptu reflective section of things that we were grateful for and treated to delicious samplers.
I’ve tried some of the beverages that she had in stock in the past and was expecting more of the same. Her drinks we’re so much better than what I had previously experienced I was shocked.
I ended up leaving the store with a high energy buzz which the store owner warned me about, but to be completely honest I thought she was just trying to sell.
Boy was she right, I felt great for about 15 to 30 minutes after leaving. I’m definitely going to have to circle back when I go through my next health and fitness kick.
First off — the vibes. Positive, quaint, magnetic. The space hums with good energy, like you’ve just stumbled into the VIP lounge of sobriety where everyone is happy to see you.
The selection? Outrageous in the best way. A jaw-dropping spread of FORTY different Athletic Brewing beers (truly the crown jewels of NA brewing), and a parade of functional mushroom elixirs so intriguing they could’ve been poured straight from an alchemist’s chalice. This isn’t just “stock on the shelves” — it’s a curated treasure chest of discovery.
And then — the owner. A legend. A host. A curator of joy. Instead of just pointing us to a shelf, she orchestrated a personalized taste test, walking us through different styles, flavors, and concoctions with the flair of a sommelier and the warmth of an old friend. It wasn’t just service, it was hospitality on a level you don’t find anymore.
This place is simultaneously fun and sophisticated, playful and refined. If Willy Wonka had opened a non-alcoholic beverage emporium, it would look like this. Five stars is not enough — we cannot wait to return.
