We put a lot of thought into where to go. Nijū ‘at the counter’ ended up being the perfect choice.
The menu was creative and intriguing. Each piece of sushi was prepared right in front of us and tasted unbelievably fresh. We were also served a delicious miso soup, an outstanding katsu course, and a lovely dessert.
Head sushi chef David made the experience relaxed and entertaining. In fact, all the staff were warm, attentive, and the service throughout was excellent. They made our celebration feel genuinely special.
Having eaten high end sushi in Japan and across London, the quality at Nijū was right up there with the best we’ve had.
Very highly recommended. Thank you to David and all at Nijū for the special memories.
Every bite of food & sip of drink was amazing. Wouldn’t change a thing. The cocktails were just as good as the food, so I’d recommend a visit to Nipperkin if you only want drinks.
No, it’s not cheap, but it is still good value because of how good it is. Already recommended to people.
The sashimi and nigiri were the undeniable highlights of the evening. Immaculately fresh, delicately sliced, and exceptionally clean in flavour, the sashimi had a melt-in-the-mouth quality that speaks volumes about the sourcing and skill behind it. The nigiri followed suit that is precise, balanced, and elegant, allowing the quality of the fish to take centre stage.
The drinks connoisseur deserves special recognition for recommending a sake that paired flawlessly with the meal. It was a thoughtful pairing that enhanced the nuances of each dish and demonstrated a genuine depth of knowledge.
Niju strikes a rare balance between refinement and warmth, making it as inviting as it is sophisticated. An outstanding meal shared with my partner, and a restaurant I would return to without hesitation. Niju London is operating at a very high level and is undoubtedly one of Mayfair’s standout dining destinations.
Highly recommended.
My friend is from Japan and has really missed authentic Japanese food, I was hoping to bring her a taste of home, and this place absolutely delivered. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food and the attentive service. The quality was outstanding, some of the best Japanese cuisine we’ve had in a long time.
We went for the 3-course meal and also tried a few dishes from the à la carte menu. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of sashimi!
