Always good breakfast/lunch to takeaway! Recommend. Sit down dining takes a bit longer.
Year 5 Update: amazing croissants. Me: blueberry brie scone. Him: dark chocolate croissant.
Update: me: shrimp scampi. Him: spicy jerk BBQ (not spicy). Excellent cuisine. 40 minutes wait, not 25 minutes.

I recently visited The Flying Fish, and it was a delightful experience overall. The outdoor atmosphere was absolutely top-notch, with a beautiful deck that provided a perfect setting for a relaxing meal. Whether you’re there for a casual brunch or a leisurely afternoon, the ambiance outside really sets the tone.

Our server was super nice and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed throughout our visit. It’s always a pleasure to be served by someone who is genuinely on the ball and friendly.

The food was good, although the portion sizes were not particularly large. If you’re very hungry, I’d recommend ordering an additional dish alongside the pancakes to make sure you’re satisfied. The pancakes were a highlight, so don’t miss out on those.

Inside, there’s a bakery offering a selection of small pastries and pies. This is a nice touch for those looking to enjoy a sweet treat after their meal or to take something home for later.

Overall, The Flying Fish is a great spot with a lovely atmosphere, excellent service, and tasty food. Just be mindful of portion sizes if you’re going in with a big appetite.

While most of the negative reviews center around the service, this place is a bit understaffed so take them with a grain of salt. It seems the only seating is on the patio (though I have not been when it is raining) which is quite spacious and dog friendly. The food was amazing and definitely worth the wait. Traditional eggs Benedict and the Gus omelet were super delicious and the cappuccino was well made, home fries were awesome as well. I recommend this place if you don’t mind the wait!

Best breakfast in the Cape!!!!
We were looking some breakfast options at a local place. This was just a little detour to the state highway and in such a cozy corner. The vibe was local, right from an American home type. I asked them about their best suggestions and they said omelette. I ordered a veggie omelette that came with bread and home fries. Gosh! The best one. I relished it like anything. My friend ordered egg sandwich and he was not disappointed as well. It was sooo filling and yumm!
Also, the staff and place is pretty welcoming. You wouldn’t regret.

This is a staple when I come to Wellfleet. Coffee is good, when the bakery items are fresh they are excellent. I had an amazing, fresh strawberry rhubarb crostata and a few days later and clearly day old mixed berry one. It was wildly disappointing and I almost said something!

One night we had the pesto pizza (pictured) which was solid and we also another morning had the Flying Fish omlet. Bacon, avocado and cream cheese. Super yummy and obv very rich. Old suggestion would be to let the cream cheese melt a little. It was in literal bricks. The deck and vibes are great!

l had dinner there tonight, 9/25. As a mostly vegan, used to very high quality food, l was very disappointed in the menu. The outdoor setting was lovely, but there weren’t any nourishing vegan, or vegetarian items on the menu except for pizza, which l wasn’t in the mood for. The service was also very slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t crowded. It took at least an hour after ordering to be served for a party of four. I had a dinner of side-orders, including beans and rice for protein, but the dish was mostly rice, containing less than 10 beans. The brocollini and plantain were good enough, but l went home hungry.

We had a wonderful breakfast here, it’s great that you can grab a coffee and sit in the patio area while you wait to be seated. They were super accommodating to our stroller. The pancakes were amazing, so light and fluffy with a little crisp on the edges. Love that they provide real maple syrup. We also split the flying fish omelette which was great, we hadn’t had cream cheese in an omelette before, it was really nice!

This place is a bit overrated. We come every year. This morning they pack me wrong order. Tonight we decided to get 27$ pizza and it was kind of sad. It’s overcooked, hard, barely anything on it, few ham pieces and really not evenly spread out, like someone just threw a handful of toppings on a part of the pizza. Not a pizza worth $27. There are amazing places that put so much love into their food, this doesn’t seem to be one of them.

Do not hesitate, just go there. Friendly service and flavorful food. I enjoyed a quiche with kale and cheese and am already thinking of going back for dinner. No doubts, 5 stars.

Went for a late breakfast the next day. Had a veggie omelet. So good! Ate it all before even thinking of taking a picture. Could not leave without ordering a quiche which became my favorite – kale & cheese. I find this cafe is well maintained with friendly and pleasant staff, plenty of sittings indoor & outdoor, and great food. Come to enjoy!

Food was fabulous – salads with chicken cooked perfectly! Service was another story. Took awhile to be seated. Took a longer while to order. And took forever to get our food. – after the chef rang the bell twice for pick up, one of us actually went and got the food from the chef ourself! The server did not ask us if we enjoyed our meal or needed anything. Throughout the meal the servers sat and chatted with each other. I recommend additional training for the servers.
