The food itself: the rice was good. It was a stickier rice than what I am used to, which was nice to roll into the Lemongrass Ahi I got. Lots of sauce and plenty of eye popping flavor. It had a good authentic Thai taste. It was mild, but I have to say spicy enough to get my nose to blow nicely. Nothing too bad, but I wouldn’t suggest for someone with a sensitive stomach, like my mom. Customer service was good and communication was good with the truck. Room for growth: There could have been a sign for me to call them and do an over-the-phone order because from my perspective, the food truck was completely closed up, even though it was open. I only called later to see if it would open, when I was instead allowed to make an order. So, a simple large sign that says: “Call-in orders only today! Call ###-####.” If I had not called in to see when they would open, I would have assumed they were closed and missing out on all that flavor they were offering! No fun!
By the way, I selected the Lemongrass Ahi because in the picture on the menu it didn’t have rice in it. But, turns out it had two big lumps of rice with it. Go figure that Asian cuisine has rice in it! You are sure to encounter rice at this food truck, regardless. Like I said they use a stickier rice that is large grained and is very savory.
We made a mistake on not specifying that we would require coconut milk in our Thai iced teas. Usually Thai places just make them on the spot but they had them prepared with regular milk, which we couldn’t take. **then she proceed to throw a tantrum in front of people making my girlfriend and I very embarrassed.
I had to check to make sure my food wasn’t spit in it. It was all smashed and I also checked to make sure my food was all there and they forgot spring rolls and expecting me to pay without them checking.
What a disgrace. The Green curry is a ONE STAR. Just water and tofu and hospital like vegetables. Pinneapple fried rice was good though.
Although she might’ve been going through something. We are taking a break from Thai Food.
Meal type: …
I had the Thai basil and the drunken noodle.
I’ve never had Thai basil quite like this – the sauce had an umami that was reminiscent of beef jus.
Yum
There are also socially distant picnic tables that are covered to sit and eat on outside. It makes for a good evening.
