Looking for home like South Indian food, here in Warm springs, Fremont -Visit MIK. Excellent fresh & crispy Dosa made to order. Sambhar, Chutneys & Rasam vadai (can be spicy those favor it) – top notch. Fresh filter coffee, reminds u of Chennai! I get my dosa & rava dosa fix here! Neat happy hour menu and weekend specials. Do give a try.

The chocolate dosa quickly became a favorite for our kids. We were especially touched by the staff’s kindness; they patiently explained the menu items, which made it easy for us to try new dishes with confidence.

Great and yummy food. Very fast and super friendly service. Food came out in less than 5 minutes. Rava dosa was crispy and Ragi dosa with kurma and masala was awesome. The place is really spacious and feels welcoming.

We went to Madras Idli Kadai after playing badminton at the nearby Synergy courts. It was pretty quiet on a Monday afternoon at around 1.30pm. They had thali and mini thali specials going on for lunch both very reasonably priced at $13.95. Our group mostly got Thalis and one mini thali (all mini thali items are a part of the thali, except bisebilebhat).

The portion size was generous with several items; easily sufficient for one. They were kind enough to accommodate minor substitutions. I asked for the white rice to be replaced with an extra chapati which they allowed. The taro stir fry was a standout. I also enjoyed the pineapple Kesari which was not too sweet or oily/fatty. The rasam packed quite a punch and the other sides were mild as expected. The mini thali had the bisebilebhat which my friend really enjoyed. They offered 2 refills for any curries in the thali. The staff was friendly and the place was generally clean and not noisy. We also tried their mini filter coffee ($2.25) which we enjoyed post meal.

Overall, great value for money – authentic and mild Indian food! 4.5/5 rounded up.

Excellence!! Fresh, hot food brought right to your table. MIK – Madras Idli Kadai had become our favorite restaurant for South Indian Food in the Bay Area. Dosas are fresh and hot! Thali- every single item, including the rice would be piping hot! Chutneys and MIK sambar are also excellent. Try the Spring Dosa (Dosa with vegetables) was so tasty and hot!! Highly recommend MIK on Warm Springs in Fremont!!

If you’re craving authentic South Indian flavors in Fremont, Madras Idli Kadai in Warm Springs is a solid pick. The idlis are soft and airy, just like they should be, and the sambar has that comforting, home-style spice. Dosas come crisp and generously filled — the masala dosa was especially satisfying. Their chutney trio adds the right kick, especially the coconut and tomato ones. The place is small and more functional than fancy, but service is quick and the prices are reasonable. A reliable spot for a quick, flavorful vegetarian meal.

Madras Idli Kadai has been our go-to spot on many weeknights for idlis and dosas, but their weekend lunch buffet truly surprised us. With dishes like beans paruppu usili and snake gourd kootu, it stands apart from the usual buffet fare filled with standard items. Every dish felt homely and comforting—reminding me of my mom’s cooking. Definitely a weekend treat we’ll be returning for!

Delicious food with high quality ingredients! Pretty extensive menu as well. Have not tried the buffet but it looks and smells great as well. Best part is the prices are very reasonable. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy South Indian food!

The food taste is awesome. We ordered Ragi Dosa and a thali. The cooking staff must be really good!

The ambience, not so much. The minute I stepped in, it felt, sorry to say, a bit trashy. I could see literally every table eaten on but not cleaned up. Crumbs of food on the table and on the floor everywhere.

The place was dimly lit, the furniture worn down. And the signs are everywhere, that the restaurant took over an old shut down place with bad Feng Shui and did nothing much to make it presentable. There was no music up on the speakers and no light in the place as half the lights were turned off. Bathrooms looked like they are at Greyhound bus stop.

There were plenty of wait staff with one busy supervisor who clearly is new to managing a restaurant floor. Generally downbeat demeanor from the wait staff.

But, like I said, the food tastes amazing! This restaurant is probably good for ordering take out. But dining in is problematic.

Biiiigggg disappointment!!!!
I would have given less than one star if possible.
The service, the food, the ambiance everything is disappointing. The food is below average. The tall guy refused to take our order two times as he was too busy, after 20 mins he took the order and we got our appetiser after 40 minutes. We ordered mini idili dipped in sambar, ghee masala dosa, Mysore masala dosa and filter coffee.
The mini idili dipped in sambar was sour and sambar had no taste, no salt and the ghee or oil was too much in it. The chutneys were adding nothing to the dish.
The ghee masala dosa was cold, masala was tasteless. Same with Mysore masala dosa, the expected spicy chutney on the dosa was insufficient and it tastes like plain dosa. With ghee masala they give peanuts chutney and with Mysore masala they gave coconut chutney.
The girl who brought it she doesn’t even understand what was it!
For filter coffee, they ran out of milk so we waited for that more than 15 minutes. The girl gave us sugar in a bowl, how we supposed to put sugar in cup without spoon?
On our table we didn’t have the spoons and napkin stand, when we asked the spoons some guy handed us plastic spoons so need to asked them specifically steel spoons, so he gave us two wet spoons, the service is that poor! The plates were small to hold the food.
Overall experience was very poor. We shared this experience with manager and he was nothing but sorry.
We are never going back there! Totally waste of money, time!!!
