Fish of the day was the red fish and was Cajun inspired and delicious. The highlight of the meal were the drinks and we were able to enjoy a diverse range such as the 1988, shore leave, & closing with espresso martini. Thank you JJ, our server Nick, and the support staff for making me & my family feel truly special.
Will be back for another round of deliciousness very soon.
Best,
Luke
The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, well-organized, and impeccably clean, setting a fantastic mood from the moment we walked in. The service was truly excellent—attentive and professional. They even gave us a lovely, signed card for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Highlights from the Menu:
* Drinks: We started with the “1988” cocktail and the “Lost Paradise” zero-proof drink. Both were exceptional and a perfect start to the evening.
* Appetizers: We ordered the Marinated Olives (very good) and the Lump Blue Crab and Brie Dip, which was the star! It was exceptional, packed with plenty of crab, and the crostinis were perfect for dipping.
* Steaks: For our main course, we both had the beef filet steaks. They were cooked to absolute perfection—tender and incredibly flavorful. The accompanying Dijon sauce was fine, but honestly, the steak was so good it stood perfectly well on its own.
* Sides: The sautéed mushrooms were amazing! The hassleback potatoes were the only slight miss, as they were a touch bland.
* Dessert: We were too full to eat dessert there but took the Pineapple Upside Down Cake home, and it was a delightful way to finish the meal later.
Overall, Apero provided a 4.7 dining experience, perfect for celebrating a special occasion. We highly recommend it!
Apero is hands-down one of the best spots in town! The atmosphere is chic and sophisticated, making it the perfect place for a night out. ✨
The cocktails are expertly crafted, and the small plates are packed with incredible flavor. ️ Exceptional service and a vibe that can’t be beat. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!
However, I feel compelled to share more about my recent experience. This past Saturday my husband and I had reservations to celebrate his birthday. I had reached out to Apero prior to our visit to see if they might be open to accommodating a unique request for a special dessert. Emily, the owner, was so gracious to oblige and Morgan, the pastry chef, crafted a delicious chocolate & caramel mousseline cake. Staff stopped by to share Happy Birthdays, truly such a memorable experience. Thank you, Apero, for caring about creating a beautiful, memorable experience for us.
The restaurant itself is stylish and has a great atmosphere. The band brought an amazing energy to the space, and the overall vibe felt upscale and enjoyable. Our server was fantastic, consistently attentive, and the food was excellent. The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. From a culinary standpoint, Apero knows what they are doing.
The disappointing part came at the door. The maître d’, Robin, seated us in the back of the restaurant far from the band and main dining area, despite there being many open seats closer to the music. We specifically came for the band, so not being given any seating options felt dismissive. It became even more uncomfortable when another employee approached us and asked if we had made reservations, even though we clearly had. Considering the planning and the extra cost we put into our evening, that moment felt slightly offensive.
At that particular time we were the only people of color there that night. Being placed away from the main room made us feel isolated, embarrassed, less welcome than others and almost like a after thought. That is a feeling no guest should ever experience, especially after taking the time to plan and invest in a night out.
Again, great food and great service are important, but hospitality is about making every guest feel valued from the moment they arrive. I truly hope Apero takes this feedback to heart. The potential for an incredible experience is clearly there. I would love to return in the future with confidence that every guest receives the same warmth, attention, and respect.
