All interno del locale è situato un piccolo ballatoio che ospita 3 tavoli da 2 persone adatto a cene romantiche.Nel bel vicolo Medievale si trovano tavoli esterni con una atmosfera molto suggestiva e storica. Reviews
The service was flawless, warm, and attentive, and the ambience was just perfect: cosy and rustic yet elegant. The music and lighting were spot on and made the whole experience even more special.
We also really appreciated the thoughtful details, like essentials available in the toilets, which is always a lovely touch. There was a kids’ menu, and as three adults with a three-year-old, we felt genuinely welcomed and well looked after.
We would 100% go back and highly recommend this place to everyone.
We ve ordered the pasta with the beef with wine and the caramelised onions, 10/10!
Definitely we would like to go again !
What really stood out alongside the delicious food was the fantastic selection of local regional wines available by the glass. The wine list provided the perfect opportunity to sample wines from Massa Marittima and the surrounding area, including a wide selection of organic wines.
We’d recommend putting this on your dining list while in town (but be aware, the charming brick and stone walls ensure there’s no cell signal or WiFi )
The ragù cinghiale is a definite recommend. As is the tiramisu with dark chocolate crumbs. Our favourite wine pairing with the food was the local Sangiovese from Giovanni Valentini (we even went to their wineshop for a wine tasting and to take a few bottles home).
If you have only one night in Massa Marittima, eat here. If you have two nights here, eat here twice (as we did). You won’t be disappointed!
Inside it is a really fantastic place. Great setting, with original stone walls on two floors. Feels a bit like in a cave / wine celler (in the most positive way). Nice tables (with candels). Our dog was very welcome as well. The menu was fine and the prices fair.
We had some Crostini for a starter and the Penne with cream, Speck and Cauliflower as well as big Ravioli with Sage / Ricotta filling on a butter sauce.
Solid food, the handmade Ravioli were really nice. Crostini quite average. Some pie for dessert….unfortunately way too sweet for our likings.
So far the place was quite alright. But the female host from Germany was a bit overly pushy when it came about ordering food and wine (looks like we ordered too less: a starter, two mains, a dessert and two glasses of wine!). She was also quite talkative. I know many visitors might like that fact, but I love to enjoy a lunch quietly…..just me and my wife (and our snoring dog under the table).
All in all the place was an ok option for lunch. But not a place we’d go back to.
