We stopped by this charming French bakery and were absolutely impressed. I had the *brownie chocolate mousse*, which was rich, velvety, and perfectly balanced—not too sweet, but full of deep chocolate flavor. My wife enjoyed the *hazelnut cake*, which was light, nutty, and beautifully layered. Each bite felt like a little taste of Paris.
Alexandra and Flor were attentive and genuinely friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. It’s clear they care about both their food and their customers. A lovely experience all around.
Adding up to all this, my wife had the chance to practice her French —we’ll definitely be back!
“I couldn’t possibly eat another bite.” However, my friends (locals) assured me that this place was awesome and the confections were wafer thin.
This place did not disappoint. The dessert were delicious and the coffee was well worth stepping outside of my dietary rules. Four people gave me ample opportunity to graze on the delights without having to go to confess the sin of gluttony to my parish priest.
Go with a gang, sample widely. It is that good.
Location: It is located along Ridgewood Avenue. There is few seatings inside and great display of the pastries. There are street parkings but might be busy on the weekends.
Service: the staff were nice, they wait for you to order and does not rush you.
Food: I bought several pastries here and some are good and some are okay. PEACH TART: this is my favorite cause it is not that sweet and there is cream inside. MANGO TART: i believe this might be limited cause I never saw this before but I love it. The crust is so good and the meringue on top is fluffy. WALNUT BROWNIE DARK CHOCOLATE MOUSE: another favorite, so chocolatey, I finished it in one seating. OPERA: this is my least favorite, I think the one I got was made long time cause the mouse has and different taste and the color is odd.
Price rating: 7/10. To be honest the price is not bad for the desserts.
I will visit it again everytime I go to NJ! Definitely try their tarts!
UPDATE – 7/13/24: I decided to introduce my daughter to this fine establishment so I took her for breakfast one morning where we got egg, ham, and cheese on a croissant along with coffee and a cappuccino (pictured). Needless to say everything, like this place was amazing. Fabulous!! We will be back.
This location has nothing fancy or special, however the breakfast pastries are somewhat unique.
If you’re a first timer try the apricot croissant, it has a really interesting texture and the custard is a nice touch.
This time I’ve added the apple croissant, it tasted really good. Texture similar to a gallette de rois with an apple filling.
Prices seems high for the area but portions can be shared.
I’ll definitely come back.
You do have to pay for parking in Ridgewood (3 hours max). The people who work here are really nice. I probably spend between 20-48 every time I am here. The owner joked she “should charge me rent” for being there sm, lol. Considering how much I love to spend, it’s like I pay 20/hr + parking I think she worries I’m working there but I have AU/ADHD and would never be able to concentrate on any real work.
I just need to change scenery when I’m not working and after my AM meetings. I also have family friends who live in town and come here and we get to say hello!
I did also notice that one of the girls never put coffee art in my cup so I always assumed she didn’t know how. Then, this Russian family shows up today and they get flower designs in their coffee. So I order a second cappuccino and I just get a blob so I never could share it on my socials and I have an active poetry page! Oh, well. It’s Ridgewood after all and if you’re a POC ykwim.
I love supporting local and woman owned but I also cannot wait until Ridgewood has more WOC businesses we can contribute to as well! This cafe seems to be welcoming to a very diverse crowd—local & visiting.
I will add the cinnamon roll they make is great but they always burn when heating it up or it’s still cold. Wish there was an in-between!!
Happy coffee break Enjoy! ☕️
