Walking in felt like stepping into a ‘90s dive bar in the best possible way neon glow, good energy, zero pretension. The kind of place where everybody looks like they’re genuinely enjoying themselves, and somehow you are too within five minutes. The staff? Thriving. The crowd? Friendly. The atmosphere? Immaculate nostalgia with a side of “stay awhile.”
Now, the bartender deserves a standing ovation. They weren’t just pouring drinks — they were pouring knowledge, class, and a perfectly measured splash of sass. After a week of talking to GPS signals, it was refreshing to talk to someone with signal strength and personality.
I’ll admit, when a place nails the vibe that hard, I sometimes brace for average food. Not here. The kitchen clearly understood the assignment.
The Texas egg rolls weren’t Texas-sized, but they were Texas-bold. What they lacked in length, they made up for in flavor. Compact, confident, and absolutely not here to play.
The wings? Flavor-wise, top tier. Some of the best sauces I’ve had in a while. The crunch, however, needed a little guidance. They weren’t quite hitting that crispy crescendo. Easy fix though ask for them baked after frying. That extra step gives them the texture they deserve. Consider it a minor adjustment for major results like recalibrating a GPS when it’s off by just a hair.
And then… the BBQ mac n’ cheese pizza. Ladies and gentlemen. This pie is what happens when comfort food gets a glow-up. Creamy mac, tender brisket, the perfect sweet-smoky BBQ sauce, and scallions sprinkled on top like flavor confetti. It was rich without being reckless, indulgent without apology, and balanced like a surveyor’s tripod on level ground.
I haven’t been this impressed by food in a long time especially in a cozy little spot in a town I hadn’t even mapped out before this job. Yet here we are, pleasantly surprised and thoroughly satisfied.
So don’t hesitate. Don’t second-guess. The coordinates are clear: go. Do yourself a flavor and stop by Flashbacks or let DoorDash bring it to you. Either way, you’ll leave happier than a surveyor with full satellite coverage and a perfectly straight line.
I had the bone in wings (large) (lemon pepper and sweet chili) The wings were good size and tasty.
The sweet chili was a little warm and I really liked it.
Lemon pepper wings they give enough seasoning and it’s really good.
Fries look hand cut a little soggy but were great.
Service was good @ 1pm on a Friday
Pool tables always have a few hustlers, and the music often abruptly stops if nobody plays pays for the jukebox.
