I don’t even know how they are still in business as Bonchon. This looks like chicken with a drizzle of sauce over it. My family and I will NEVER go back. If you are looking for good Bonchon go to the one in Arlington by in North Pershing! The chicken at this location is amazing and authentic!

My family and I have loved Bonchon for over a decade. However, this Annandale location has fallen off a cliff. This evening we ordered boneless chicken and my children refused to eat them because we were served hard batter balls and not chicken. The sauce was barely on the wings unlike other locations.
This isnt an isolated case. This is normal for them in Annandale. $40 for boneless and chicken less “wings.”
Please go to the other locations like Springfield or Fairfax if you want GOOD Bonchon. Avoid this location at all cost.

Crispy Chicken Bliss at Bonchon Annandale!
I took my family to Bonchon Annandale, and we absolutely loved it!
Bonchon’s fried chicken is truly a crunch above the rest! Their double-fried magic creates an unbelievably crispy shell that stays crunchy even under their addictive Soy Garlic or Yangnyum sauce. (Yangnyum is super popular in Korea—slightly spicy but just right!) Juicy inside, shatteringly crisp outside—every bite is pure joy. Pair it with pickled radish for the perfect balance.
And let’s talk about the Bulgogi French Fries—my son LOVED them! Smothered in bulgogi and served with spicy mayo, they’re an absolute must-try. I also devoured the Bulgogi Tacos and Spicy Rice Cake (Tteokbokki, 떡볶이)—both packed with bold, delicious flavors.
Fast service, great vibes, and the best crispy chicken and Korean food in town. Once you try Bonchon, regular fried chicken just won’t cut it!

Bonchon Annandale is a wonderful Korean fried chicken and Korean fusion restaurant. The server went above and beyond with their service. They were super friendly and checked on us multiple times. The food was 5/5 delicious, the chicken was hot and super crispy and perfect the 불고기 fries in presentation. Definitely going to come again.

So I have been here a couple of times since they have opened back up again and the first few times I have gone, the chicken has been so dry with BARELY enough sauce drizzled on it. It seems they are very stingy with their sauce on the chicken based on the other reviews. The last time I ordered from this Annandale location, everything was fine but I’m not willing to risk $30+ on food at a location where I MAY or MAY NOT get good quality food. $30+ for one person is a lot to gamble on food especially something that is supposed to be quality food. The fries and everything else is fine but what I think is happening is the old man working by himself (might be the owner or manager not sure) either gets tired because he’s the only one I’ve seen working bar, cooking/taking orders AND serving that he just doesn’t care about cooking it the way it should be cooked. I have eaten in here once or twice, for the most part I get take out but when I sat to eat, he was the ONLY one working and I’ve seen this multiple times where he is the only person working. He needs to hire someone who can help him cook the food a bit longer & with more sauce. From now on I will be going to the Fairfax Bonchon as they have never failed me like this, multiple times at that. Please for the love of god start putting more sauce on the chicken!!

Went to Bonchon for lunch today and ordered the three drumstick with french fries with extra seasoning for a $1 extra. The drumsticks were a good size each, they’re very crispy and juicy. The french fries were a little bit soggy from the ride back, but that’s not their fault that’s on me. I’ve been here before they’re very good. I like their chicken and I wanna try some of their other items on the menu. I definitely recommend them! Sorry I forgot to snap a picture.

Wanted to try the newly re-opened Bonchon in Annandale as it was about 8 minutes closer than the Fairfax location, but I was extremely disappointed. I ordered Popcorn Shrimp and 8 pc Strips. The Popcorn shrimp was over-fried to almost black, and the chicken was the opposite – mushy and soft. The staff was kind enough to give an extra side of spicy mayo and that’s the only nice thing I can say. For about $34 it was unacceptable. It feels unfair to give a negative review since they’re just getting started but I figured they would put their best food forward, so I hope the quality improves.
