Between the food safety issue, the long wait, and receiving another wrap I couldn’t even eat, this was a total letdown. I won’t be returning.
Response to the owner:
I’m confused by your response. Finding a rubber band inside food is not “something little” it’s a serious food safety issue. Suggesting that I remove it and still eat the sandwich is concerning.
Yes, I called and a replacement was offered. That replacement took over 30 minutes to arrive and was so drenched in sauce that it was soggy and completely inedible. At that point, the issue was not fixed.
Reviews are meant to reflect real customer experiences, not only the ones businesses prefer to highlight. My review and photo were honest and accurate. Being disappointed in feedback does not make the feedback unfair or “dirty.”
I would have appreciated accountability and professionalism instead of blame. Unfortunately, this response only reinforces my experience.
From the wings, to the pizza, to the fries, and cheesesteaks. It’s delicious! Even when we had an issue, due to the delivery driver, not the restaurants fault. One phone call and they corrected the order and delivered it right away. This evening I got the Lg. pizza and wing special and chef’s kiss absolute perfection
Look at this Beauty! Marcello’s is a must try. It will be my new go-to place for sure
(Response to Owner). I get your upset. Your just a bunch of Mexicans trying to make Italian food and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong with trying make cuisines out of your comfort zone, being multicultural, trying something new and making a business out of it. The Cairi Coreleone is a good pizza, but the meatballs on it suck, the Trapani Coreleone is good a pizza but the ham and salami combo throws the taste off, either pick one or try a new combination. The Messina is a great pizza, after you rebake in the air fryer for 6 to 7 mins on 350. But to say that monstrosity of a buffalo chicken pizza (the Etna) is the best is a delusion. There’s not a single Italian that would be proud of that disgusting blue cheese sauce. There isn’t any spice, or heat, you think the tang is coming from miniscule amount of buffalo sauce trying to fight through the Bleu cheese, but it’s not, the whole pizza is just melted cheese on top of blue cheese. The chicken looks sad and boiled or grilled for 2 second then steamed. The crust is good though, maybe that’s what you should do, make crust for other pizza places.
Long review to follow:
I was away from home and decided to order from this place based solely on their 4.7-Star rating.
Marcello’s appears to be a family owned pizza joint. Take-out only. You can just tell they’ve been around a while and I’m guessing they do a lot business. It just has the looks of a place that can really get crankin!
The place was clean (not sparkly) and smelled of pizza!
I ordered from the Corleone Style Pizza menu.
And I can say that I’m so glad I did! The best way I can describe the Corleone style is Sicilian style, but the crust is not thick like most places. It is what I would call a medium thickness. It’s a rectangular crust with cheese melted all the way past the edges. So, no crust. Which I particularly love!!. And the cheese was nice and browned and crispy!
First, the Carini (think Meat lovers): Big chunks of sliced meatballs, sausage, pepperoni, and garlic! Great sauce. Not sweet. Not too acidic. Absolutely amazing!
Second, the Buffalo Chicken pizza: Lots of grilled chicken, cheese, and a creamy buffalo sauce. I would say mild to medium heat level of sauce.
The crispy cheesey edges and airy crust just takes this pizza over the top!
Highly recommend Marcello’s.
The guys behind the counter were very friendly and nice.
I started to give just 4-stars for atmosphere because the place could use some freshening up, but I changed it to 5-stars because the guys behind the counter were so friendly and conversational. That level of service is often lacking these days.
Not sure when I’ll make it back to Marcello’s as it was about 30 minutes from home… But I would make that drive just for this pizza!
Thanks guys!
