Edit: second visit just over a month later and the same standard of good service and food was upheld! This place deserves it’s high rating. This time my wife went for lobster which was delicious and I went for a burger again and it was even better than the first time. Staff are so friendly and helpful with the menu. Will be back in the future
The place is small and compact but not uncomfortable. The staff are attentive and professional but the real gem is the food. It’s a fish restaurant of the best order and absolutely brilliant. (it’s OK, they do have a beef steak I think but if you end up there, you have gone because you like fish)
I won’t discuss what we ate because it will leave you salivating and desperate to jump in your car to experience what my wife and I have just experienced but seriously, it’s that good. They even know how to fillet a Dover Sole (Black Sole) and it was poetry in motion to watch.
I assure you, that I do not exaggerate the sense my wife and I are feeling that what we experienced this evening is a culinary delight and the quicker you make your reservation, the quicker you might share the same satisfied feeling of a meal enjoyed and an experience to share.
It’s not cheap though. We spent just a tad over 200 euros for two people but that included a very nice bottle of Marlborough New Zealand white washed down with a ten year old port and decaf coffee.
Seriously, my taste buds are still excited from the whole delectable experience and you will not be disappointed.
Lastly, sorry for the photo of oyster shells. I enjoyed them before Samsung could capture the image but make sure you pre-order them because they are that fresh. Can I say anything more? No not really because what I have said is an accurate recollection of our experience.
Will we return. Definitely but its a bit tricky since we live in Hertfordshire but its very tempting to just fly from Luton for a one night stay and to present ourselves for another master class of cuisine at its best.
The restaurant is very cosy but you do not feel cramped at all.
They have a lovely warm atmosphere and the staff really help with this. They are very friendly and helpful.
When we arrived we were told about a few specials and both ordered one of them so make sure you have a listen as it is very worth while!
The food was delicious! Everything was spot on and we loved everything!
This is a great restaurant for a catch up with a good friend or for a date night meal. Very enjoyable.
I highly recommend a visit!
Appreciate how attentive the service was – waitress changing the utensils and wiping down the table after every course, letting us use their wifi when we realise our phone service wasn’t working in that part of town and always coming back to top up our water or asked if we needed anything else. My husband & I will definitely be back!
