We had a belated Valentines dinner at this Gordon Ramsey restaurant on a busy Sunday night.
First, the food. Everything I wanted it to be. The Wellington was tender and the flavor amazing. We started with a nice ceasar salad (enough for two) and added only a side of the most amazing Brussel sprouts.
No room for desert this trip.
And our waiter – Ted – really made the entire experience fun and enjoyable. Very knowledgeable and charming.
It’s a very popular and busy restaurant but everything went smooth.
I would most definitely eat here again.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and the entire experience delivered. From the moment we sat down, the service felt intentional and polished. The food impressed at every course. Steaks cooked perfectly. Sides rich and balanced. Desserts finished the night strong, including a thoughtful anniversary touch from the staff. The atmosphere feels upscale without feeling stiff. This is the top dining experience in Lake Charles. Worth every visit for a special occasion or a night you want done right.

Immediately, yes! Birthday dinner done right. The lobster risotto, beef Wellington, steak tartare, caeser salad with scotch egg, the cocktails, the service from Hayden, EVERYTHING WAS GLORIOUS! Who knew that Gordon Ramsay was in the Lake Charles area??! The standard has been set and kept at this location. This was an epic discovery, and I can’t wait to return!

For context, I haven’t eaten solid food in 5 years, the condition i was born with has left my esophagus paralyzed so ive been on a liquid diet due to the advanced nature of the dysphagia. As you can imagine this makes going out to eat extremely difficult.
Last night I ate at a restaurant with my husband for the first time. I didnt have to think of how to explain myself or worry about choking or not order anything but a drink and get strange looks. we made our reservation 2 weeks ago, knowing they had a menu item that I could eat with no accommodations and my husband put it in the notes that I couldn’t eat solid food so no one would question why i was only ordering one item. Skylar from The Gordon Ramsey Steakhouse called us to ask if there was anything he could do to accommodate and then put us on the phone with the head chef. they bounced around ideas of purees they could make or soups they could blend and by the end made a menu of items I could eat.
Last night they went above and beyond, the food was delicious, the service was phenomenal, and I ate a meal with my husband and didnt have to worry about anything. The head chef is even looking forward to creating new items next time we come in.
if you guys will see this but we wanted to thank everyone again and brag for a moment about the group of people that made this night so special. Thank you to our phenomenal waiter Aiden and Skylar who made the initial phone call and to the manager Dalton and the head chef Maria.

This is absolutely a wonderful experience The Beef Wellington, the Brussel Sprouts, and The Taffy Pudding at the end. My husband enjoyed his old fashion. All of those were very lovely. I would have to say, the only let down that I had unfortunately, was the pork chops. They felt a bit dry. The flavor was good I just felt like they needed a bit more to them. I ordered them with additional topping and I am glad I had because I had to dip each bite into it so that it didn’t taste as dry. Otherwise everything was absolutely delicious. Ted waited on us and took great care of us. I thoroughly enjoyed his great service and help. I did not say how I felt because I didn’t want to ruin our date with a complaint. I look forward to coming back I will try other items on the menu and absolutely loved everything else I’m hoping that the pork chops will be a little better next time.

9/10/2025: My friend and I had an early birthday dinner for me at GRS. The service was exquisite from start to finish. We started with the complimentary bread with our wine. The butter they serve with the bread has small pieces of course sea salt in it which was divine! It was the best bread and butter I have ever had hands down. For our meal, we ordered the beef wellington and brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious! The servings are large enough to split, especially after the bread and wine.
The restaurant is tucked away in a corner of the casino. You have to pass a shop and then a pizza by the slice place to get there.
The restaurant is waterside, so the view is pretty. I recommend this place for special occasions. The atmosphere alone is impressive, but then when you add the service and the food, you will be wowed!

The food sucked. I have had better beef and cheaper at Burger King and I could have it my way. I paid $85 for a piece of aged cow poop because I would not call it a steak. The fingerling was really good. The Brussel sprouts was not the best, but ok. The service was awesome. The atmosphere was really great. Did not check out the restrooms figured it cost too much lol. Went there for my birthday dinner. The staff was beyond amazing and every one came to the table to give me birthday wishes. Our waiter Ben was charming and funny and explained the meh thoroughly. We had a vegetarian in our group and he was helpful in giving her the choices available. Our food was outstanding and every last detail was perfect. From the hostess to the ones who bussed our table, the staff was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was a perfect ending to my birthday.

My concern was not with the food, but with the service. The place was not full, having gone on a October 5th, Sunday evening. I went on the day of my anniversary, food was great, music was not adequate, it didn’t provide a pleasant environment and I had problems listening to my wife and the waiter whenever there was a conversation. After dessert, I was going to order their take of an old fashioned drink, the waiter came and gave me the receipt I didn’t ask for the receipt, as a result, I did not order the old fashion drink After tip, meal was +$400, tip included. After I left the parking lot, the restaurant called me telling me that I took the signed receipt and left the blank. Are you accusing me of stealing? I went back to the restaurant showing that I indeed took the unsigned receipt and they misplaced the signed one. After some back and forth, they found the signed receipt, it was tossed away. Other thing I noticed was the following: I’ll request to not argue with your coworkers in from of the customer. The waiter got into an argument with the “buslady” of how he she can’t do anything right, as he seemed to take her by the arm and tell her to go away “not here, we’ll talk later”. That left a negative impression on me. At the end of it all the waiter apologized and said he’ll make it up to me next time I come. I don’t think I’m coming back. Especially with what I experienced at the end. I should have requested the tossed away receipt to rip it and ask for a new one to remove the tip, but I didn’t want more drama on my Anniversary.
