We had roast of the day and fish & chips for dinner. Roast lamb was tough and chewey, veggies were good. Chips & salad were good and the fish was alright. Overall, the food was just good but easily could’ve been better. Service was very good. We were serviced reasonably quickly and politely. Food was only 3 stars, but because the service was very good, I gave 4 stars overall.

This place is a bit hard to rate. The food was nice and presented well. A good sized meal too. The service was very good and friendly. But it was far from clean. The moment we pulled up out the front we noticed mouldy rotten canvas over the entry door, dirty windows and cobwebs everywhere. We still decided to give it a try. On entry we noticed the floor needed vacuuming but I stopped looking for faults after that as we wanted to try the food. So first impressions were not great, nothing a bit of time can’t fix, just removing the ripped and mouldy canvas and a clean of all the outdoor patio awnings and windows will make a huge difference.
Glad we had a meal there but probably won’t go back as just wondering what the kitchen is like now.

We were on a day trip to Portland & thought that it might be nice to enjoy a seafood lunch.
The Waterfront Restaurant was our choice, & it didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing. There was an extensive menu, not only of seafood dishes, but meats, pasta, etc.
We put in an order for Pork belly, Marinara with pasta, Garlic prawns, & Marinara without pasta. It all arrived quickly & piping hot. Our dishes were so delicious, that we asked for spoons to clean up the sauces. I’ve never done that before.
It is child friendly, & there is a kids menu.
There was a choice of cakes, if cake & coffee is what you’d prefer
The service was friendly & helpful. The restaurant easy to move about in. Cash or card accepted as payment.
We parked in front of the restaurant, on the street. No parking meters, so free.

Highly Recommend. We had our New Year’s Eve Meal here. Excellent food. The staff, considering it was New Year’s Eve were busy and polite. It felt like a special night. I really enjoyed my Creamy Garlic Prawns with Salad.

I came in with a small group a few weeks back, the staff were superb, but the food wasn’t great! I ordered the stir fry with prawns which costs $13 extra on top of an already very expensive dish! It was very mediocre considering the substantial price! The veggies were drowning in an awful sweet sauce that tasted like it came out of a cheap bottle of Aldi sauce. The Chinese cabbage was chewy and so were the prawns which were like hockey pucks! It was awful! Highly overrated restaurant in my opinion, especially when the local pubs serve up a brilliant meal, which is twice the size and up to half the price.

My friends and I (a group of 10) booked a table at Edwards so we could relax and enjoy coffee and cake together. Unfortunately, our experience was ruined due to poor and unprofessional service from the waitress who served us (Tall huge white lady)
From the start, she appeared very grumpy and took our orders without any smile or basic courtesy. Our cheesecake orders were delayed, and when we politely asked about them, she responded coldly. When the plates arrived, they were placed on the table without any apology or explanation.
One of my friends politely asked if the air conditioning could be turned on, and she responded in a rude manner, saying the remote was there and that my friend could turn it on herself. This was unnecessary and showed a lack of basic customer service.
Later, around 5:30 pm, she approached our table and loudly told us, in a rude tone, that she needed the table in 10 minutes for the next booking. This could have been communicated politely, but instead it made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
Overall, there was a clear lack of professionalism and frontline service skills. Her attitude ruined what was meant to be an enjoyable group coffee date.
We were planning to return for dinner with an even larger group, but after this unpleasant experience, we were very disappointed. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and looks into improving staff behaviour and customer service.
Other than the service, coffee and cake were good.

The food was amazing but…
When you come to a restaurant you don’t want to be directed or asserted. You do want hospitality and service, like acknowledging the presence of customers who walk in and wait for you to look up from your screen. Try greeting them and saying you will be with them shortly.
Pointing out that you had a large order and directing my attention to a sign is no way to deescalate annoyance.
The style of management would be better suited to a factory floor than a restaurant.

To the owners of this establishment. We all know that an average meal can be lifted by amazing service and an amazing meal can be neutralised by “assertive” service.
Choose your front end staff wisely, they are literally the face of your organisation.

I recently visited Edwards waterfront, and it was a great experience overall. The food was fresh and full of flavor—especially the fish and chips, which was cooked perfectly and nicely presented.
The staff were friendly and attentive without being overwhelming, and our food arrived quickly. I also loved the atmosphere; it was clean, comfortable, and had a welcoming vibe.
For the quality of food and service, the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Edward’s waterfront and look forward to coming back again.

Amazing stuff, great view to look out before the cars pile up!
We originally were going to go for some dessert but was so full! Great ginger beer too! (I’m obsessed with ginger beer)
Thank you for a lovely experience!

Lovely place to sit watching the harbour on a cold and blowy day. On a better day the outside tables would be the go. The bruschetta was excellent and the spicy calimari beautifully cooked. If you are keen on death by chocolate the warmed Mississippi Mud cake is worth a look. Would come again.
