Yemanja felt very much like a delightful neighborhood eatery. Welcoming, comfortable, and delicious. I tried the beef empanadas, the shrimp “soup”, a cocktail, and the dessert special – caramel churros. Everything I got was timely and tasty, as were the items my companions ordered. I would absolutely return!

We ordered the empanadas to start. They were so tasty and fresh!
I ordered the Picanha na Brasa. It was a beautiful cut of steak that was extremely tender topped with a flavorful reduction.
My husband ordered the Frango Minas. I wish I could put into words how delicious this dish was. First of all, we do not like raisins. We actually almost didn’t order this dish because of that. However, when we took a bite, (my husband described it best) he said it tastes like home. It was such a warm, comforting bite. The meal, you could tell, was made with heart. It was everything you could imagine and more. The raisins were such a great idea too! They added that small taste of fruit.
I wish we lived closer. We would be going here every week.
Not only was the food phenomenal, the service was just as great. We had Debbie as our server. And she was SO FUNNY. We loved catching up with her and learning about her life. She was tentative and provided great service. The other servers and bartender were very kind and tentative as well. They made you feel at home and extremely welcomed.
This is going to be a restaurant we visit often when we are in the STL area.
We visited Friday, the 17th at 8:30pm.

I’m very budget conscious, so I like eating out to be actually worth it. Yemanja is one of the best restaurants that I have been to in a very long time! I could tell that the chef is making all of the ingredients/food and is very talented. The food was phenomenal!! I also thought it was reasonably priced too. Everyone that works here was so friendly and treated our table like family even though it was our first time trying Yemanja! I would absolutely go here again and it’s definitely one of the best restaurants for Brazilian food that I have ever been to. Definitely try this spot!

AH-MAZING! You can tell the chef loves to cook. The food – chef’s kiss Everything was cooked juat right with all the right seasonings. Met the owner – awesome lady! Yemanja Brasil did not disappoint. The team was inviting, the service was impeccable and the decor was fun. The waitress even gave us a tutorial on the traditional Brazilian stew (not pictured). The have both indoor and outdoor seating.

I am a Brazilian expat who lives in California and I often go to STL to visit family. In the 25 years that I’ve been living in the U.S., I have never encountered a better Brazilian restaurant than Yemanja Brasil Restaurante. Every time I go, it makes me feel like I’m back at home in Brazil savoring delicious homemade food. The entire experience including food, staff and environment is beyond outstanding. Make sure to try the feijoada or one of the delicious daily specials. And if you are a drinker like me, you can’t miss the traditional caipirinha. You’ll love it.

Everything was delicious. We got epanadas de bife and Jake’s chicken wings for the appetizers. Moqueca de Camaraõ and Feijoada for the main course. For dessert we had the flan and Brazilian chocolate tiramisu. Everything was 10/10. Ps it was so good we got a coconut flan to go. Great birthday dinner!
