What an amazing Mother’s Day dinner… yes I said that right. It was quiet and quaint and the patio was beautiful. We had 11 people at like 530 and it was perfect timing. Our server was awesome and she truly did a great job with all of the Sally’s we bring to the table (bonus points for that reference). The patio was not crowded which we love because of all the kids, and the food was absolutely fabulous! The menu is so large I couldn’t believe my eyes. The turkey club was amazing, and the chicken ceasar wrap was sooo good. I felt like there wasn’t a bad thing on the menu. My husband also said the French onion soup is to die for but I didn’t get to try it…yet. Perfect little neighborhood spot and we will definitely be back!

You guys I can describe this bar in one word… Wow! We went to the donkey inn on a Wednesday night at 930pm. (Blackout Wednesday was invented in the northwest Chicago suburbs) It was our bartenders first night there…. But I couldn’t tell!!! Excellent service, great vibes, incredible music, and the golden tee was on par. I had 4 beautiful perfectly poured pints of Guinness. Will absolutely be back next blackout Wednesday (invented in the northwest Chicago suburbs.) Okay y’all God bless happy thanksgiving and let’s go bears MWAH

My first poor review! Sadly this was a last minute go to because the place we were supposed to go to was closed for the holiday. So many things wrong… first 2 of 3 burgers came with the wrong cheese. Remade one of them and it came as a double patty(?) so wasn’t medium, of course. All the food that came out was lukewarm (even the remade) and it was pretty empty. No flavor to the burger meat, old ketchup at the table, subpar dressing and bbq sauce, no flavor in anything, even the bacon!? Will not be returning and don’t recommend.

Karyn was our waitress. Great service!!! She helped me figure out what to order cause there is so many things on the menu!!!! Great music it’s. Loud music which was good. Amazing food. Super crispy tater tots. Great chicken buffalo wrap amazing French dip. Omg try Donkey punch drinks so refreshing. And they are strong.

Went on a Friday night after we beat Fremd. Cheeseburger was cooked just as ordered. The French fries were perfect as well. The chicken sandwich was just a chicken sandwich. The mozzarella sticks were hot and crispy. I’d go back. I’m surprised how many things are on the menu. @food_from_the_usa

Great food in a comfortable and casual setting. There’s a good reason the Donkey Inn has been around this long, it’s because they do it right. Wide variety of menu options and consistently tasty food. Table service attentive. Facility spotless and relaxing. Overall, a great spot to stop and enjoy a drink or a meal, alone or with friends.

My mom and I visited the Donkey Inn for a late lunch on a weekday afternoon. She went with a burger special and I decided I wanted an all-day breakfast dish. The food arrived warm and tasted good. The service was a bit slow but the waitress did mention one of the wait/bar staff had an injury which was why things were slower than usual. It was good to hear that because we did wonder why it was taking a while to get our drinks and food orders. Everything was great and I am looking forward to my next visit to give a more thorough review of different food options.
