The Riv is a quirky fun find. It’s a beautifully converted church that has kept so much character. We loved the decor—especially the hilarious and unexpected surprise of an organ in the bathroom (complete with hand-washing instructions on it!).
The food was incredible. My husband said the biscuits were the best he’s ever had, which makes sense given their WiFi password is a tribute to them. I had the black bean patty with avocado and egg, and it was delicious. For drinks, the vanilla caramel tea with burnt brown sugar cinnamon was perfectly crafted. A nod to their limeade with a salty touch and fresh lime pulp. Yum!
My husband also noticed the Riv artwork and thought it said “Rio” (River in Spanish), which adds a nice layer to the name either way you see it. It’s well worth the stop or the drive if you’re in the area. We can’t wait to come back and bringing our biscuit lover family to enjoy.

Went for lunch on a rainy Tuesday. Pretty quiet inside, which I liked. I got the spicy miso noodle bowl and it was comforting in that warm, steady kind of way. Broth had depth, not just heat. The staff was mellow but not checked out. No real complaints, just wish it was closer to where I live.

Smooth coffee. Wonderful scones and an atmosphere to blend into a nice warm morning. The ambience is wonderful and rustic. Comfortable seating all around.

TLDR; super sweet spot with some really good biscuit sandwiches

Food- we ordered one of the biscuit sandwiches on the menu with bacon on the side, and I have to say that it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were so good, the biscuit was crumbly but held everything together really well at the same time. The iced mocha was really nice too.

Atmosphere – given that this place used to be a church, I love that they’ve preserved as much as they can. The porch outside also looks like a really nice spot to work.

Operating out of a restored, historic church, the Riv Cafe felt very welcoming and spacious, with the scent of breakfast wafting out from the kitchen.

The menu offers familiar dishes with a twist: a surprisingly good bagel & lox, made like a dainty sandwich, huevos with black beans, a stacked breakfast burrito, an egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich on choice of breads (French bread for me), lunchtime sammies, berry smoothies and intoxicating coffee, and more. Make it here before noon and you get Benedict.

Loved the stained glass windows up front, white everywhere, and pews for seats. They keep it cold during the summer. Might wanna bring a jacket.

I also appreciate that they responded to inquiries on Instagram right away. Yes, they serve breakfast until 2 pm closing, except the bennies.

I would give the chicken ten stars if Google would let me! What a cool, funky place, with fabulous food! I had a side salad and a piece of chicken, both were excellent. My husband has the BLT and loved it too! We have to say the strawberry smoothie was pretty bland though. We’ll be back next time we are in the area…

I used to go here a long time ago (back in 2015) and loved it. I recently came back last week and still enjoyed it , even with the new menu (new to me). The manager is super kind also, after only going 3 times I called to make an order and he remembered my name and finished saying my order! Good customer service and personal. My favorite is the Bravado add pesto and switch to ranch sauce, and a side salad with ranch. To die for! Also, since I can’t have coffee anymore I decided to try their hot cocoa. Hands down, best I’ve had from anywhere in town.

I went for a casual lunch. It is counter walk up, then they bring your food to your table. The space was cozy, calm, and nice decorated with mostly tables, but some casual chairs. The food (I got the grilled cheese with bacon and the tomato soup) was delicious and my oatmeal latte was perfect.
