This is the second location for Umai Sushi Burrito in Boise. I have been going to the other location on Overland in Meridian since they opened, so I was really excited to see them open their new location on Main. I would highly suggest that you try them out. This new location is large and there is lots of parking right up to the door. The service has been awesome each time I stop. I’ve been here 3 times since their opening a few weeks ago. I could eat there everyday. For those of you who don’t know what a sushi burrito is. It’s just a big sushi roll that is cut in half instead of many pieces. The reason I prefer the burritos, is that they are larger than a regular sushi roll. And these are delicious! Great portion sizes, AWESOME tasting fresh fish, friendly quick service, and incredibly fair prices. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Amai Sushi Burrito and everyone who works there. Try them out, you’ll be glad you did.

We were a bit bummed when Sushi Joy closed here. It was our go-to delivery Chinese with additional sushi options. However, we have finally tried this Umai that took it’s spot, and boy was it great! It was a worthy trade. The poke bowl seemed like a great deal to me. The miso soup was also good. While I don’t think they deliver I could see this becoming a regular for my family.

Delicious, fresh, quick service, reasonably priced. You cannot go wrong at Umai’s , a family run Asian restaurant . The server is a sushi chef, and also has experience at previous restaurants.
The new owner has remodeled the inside of the former Sushi Joy, and it is clean, attractive, spacious and welcoming. The outside parking lot, while large, is still undergoing renovation as of 2/2026. Don’t let it deter you from stepping inside.
I ordered a Poke bowl with salmon & tuna. The selection of add-ons and sauces is extensive, and the final combination was excellent. l’ll try a sushi burrito next time, and from the reviews I’m sure it will be excellent as well.
Definitely stop here for your Sushi or Poke cravings. It may become your new favorite restaurant!

We’ve been fans of this restaurant for a few years, but didn’t go often due to their location, since we live on the Bench. Now that they have a new spot in Boise, we’ve gotten takeout multiple times.
The sushi burritos are fantastic and stuffed full of fish – my favorite is the Poke Bomb, followed closely by the Chef’s Burrito. Their poke bowls are great as well, and do not skimp on the fish or toppings. Very budget-friendly, too!
Every time we stop in, the place is pretty empty, so I hope that most customers are like us and order takeout – we need this location to thrive!

Christmas Eve we were searching for somewhere open. It didn’t look promising as there were only a few folks in the restaurant. However, we were VERY pleasantly surprised. The quality of the meal was extraordinary! He had the teriyaki chicken meal (great). I had the Rainbow sushi (extraordinary). Lovely place. Highly recommend!!
