Denizens Brewing Co. is an independent and family owned and operated craft brewery celebrating its twelfth year in business. Our Production House & Taproom is located in Riverdale Park, MD where we produce all of our beer onsite, and offer a delicious American Gastropub food menu. With more than 15 beers on tap and a selection of wine, cocktails, N/A options including mocktails, and our own hard cider, we truly offer something for everyone. We are open with lots of outdoor patio seating and tons of indoor seating. Our patio is dog-friendly. Reservations are not required; please call to reserve for a large group. We also offer easy online ordering for pickup. We look forward to seeing you soon!

My friends and I came by for Thursday Night Trivia, and it was so much fun!! We got there early to eat, and I ordered the sweet and spicy garlic chili, crisp chicken wings, and the Berry Mary to drink, and both were delicious. We had enjoyed trivia and the great vibes. The questions were sooo hard, or actually, we are warming up this week, and next time we will come back strong and make the top 3.

I come to Denizens every Thursday for Nate’s trivia night—he really knows how to run a great event, and the place is always packed. Unfortunately, the consistently high energy of trivia nights doesn’t excuse the lack of attentiveness from a few of the servers.
It typically takes around ten minutes just to place an order and even longer for food to arrive, with no updates unless we flag someone down. Servers often don’t write down or verify orders, which leads to mistakes. Last Thursday, one of the male servers reviewed my order at the end of the night and found an error. He did fix it, but the interaction felt rushed and avoidable.
There have also been several uncomfortable moments with this same server. While I was paying for my meal (a Sprite and cake), I struggled to find the card reader, and although he offered to help, he ended up taking it out of my hands. During trivia, he also tried to remove my plate without asking—even though I still had food on it—and I had to convince him to let me finish. Tonight (February 5th), he handled my checkout again. I paid with a $5 bill for fries, but he didn’t return my change until I approached another server. I eventually received only a dollar back and spoke with the manager.
This particular server lacks basic interpersonal communication skills, and if I were his supervisor, I would pull him aside for training on how to interact respectfully and professionally with customers. I enjoy coming here for trivia, but the service issues are becoming hard to overlook.

Meh. I typically like craft beer places. Wouldn’t come back here though. Service was good, food was okay, but expensive, but most disappointing were the beers. I like my IPAs but the IBUs in these were exceedingly high. Even the Triple and the Maibock were bitter. The two romaine lettuce stalks in the Grilled Caesars Salad wasn’t grilled. It hit the grill for a few seconds, maybe. Very skimpy on the dressing. We added the steak ($12 extra) and half of it was pretty chewy. Fries were good. But overall, we just didn’t feel like we got a good ROI.

Veggie burger was PHENOMENAL! Omg It was so good. Wow, I’m still so impressed by it days later. Best I’ve had in a very very long time. Fries were excellent also. Club soda was nice and strong. Everyone I was with said what they ordered was very good. Nothing bad to say about this place except that the chairs were kinda uncomfortable. I’ll definitely be going back.

Good brewery with different beer styles… both west coast and hazy ipa’s, stout, rauchbier, etc. There were no sours on tap when I visited, but they do brew them. Most beers were $8 for a pint. That’s a little high for where I’m from ( Charlotte), but probably the going rate for this area. Food was really good! Had the black bean burger and others at the table spoke highly of the hotdogs! Pretzels were really good also!

Solid spot. Worthy of four stars. Open early in the day to serve that lunchtime brewpub crowd, which not all do. Stickers were plentiful and free. Hike the Alps Dunkel and Cool Breeze stout were both pretty good.

We hosted our co-ed baby shower in the Brewer’s Lounge at Denizen’s and honestly couldn’t have been happier about our venue choice! The vibe was very relaxed and the Denizen’s staff was excellent in communicating about the event prior to our big day. The food was great, we had a dedicated server handling drink orders, and the space was a perfect size for ~45 guests. I definitely recommend reserving the Brewer’s Lounge at Denizen’s for any celebratory events you may have coming up! You won’t regret it! Thanks Denizen’s for helping make our baby shower so special!

Love their beer. Enjoyed all the Lagers. Service was great. Giant pretzel was delicious. Enjoyed the hot dogs. You don’t have to just get fries either. I had the onion rings which were really good and my wife had the side salad.

I would give a 5/5 star review; however, we did not order any food. I’ll update this review after the next visit to provide a more thorough review on the meal. Overall, the service was very remarkable. The cocktails were fresh, elevated and beautiful. The beer selection was on par with the season. I loved the Chapless Horseman so much so that I brought a bottle home. There is street parking directly in front of the building, but if full, there is more parking in the Whole Foods lot. There was outdoor seating with umbrellas and two unisex restrooms in the restaurant that were thoroughly cleaned. I liked the large group sized booths and also the bar area was very large. I am looking forward to trying their pretzel and wings on my next visit.

A pleasant spot for a light meal. Good seasonal beer options, wine and cocktails if beer isn’t your thing, they have a decent set of starters, sandwiches, and sides. Of note is the chicken club sandwich with onion rings, and the kale caesar salad is very good. No real dessert options beyond sherbert. Service can be a little slow but it’s a laid back environment and everyone is nice.
