I have been a regular guest for a while now and Kibou never disappoints. All dishes; classic sushi, ramen, chicken variations are amazing. Cocktails are also top tier.
I dont really like the mandatory service charge especially for 2 people. I understand bigger groups as they take much more organisation.

The only place we trust for Japanese food in Bristol! We’ve been coming here regularly for two years and it never disappoints. The Volcano Roll is a must-try, and the Prawn Tempura is always perfectly crisp.

The staff are super friendly and the ‘cosy’ vibe–particularly in the downstairs seating area–makes it perfect for a night out. Great food, great cocktails, and a great atmosphere. 10/10!

Came here to celebrate my partners birthday, and it was a fantastic experience.

Service was very positive & welcoming, we were seated quickly; but we did book ahead, which i’d recommend as it was busy even on a weekday. Although the time for the food to reach the table was a little long it didn’t feel ridiculous and considering how busy it was I could understand why.

The quality of food was top notch and we were not disappointed by the presentation, taste & feel of all the food & drink we had.

My partner even got a free Brownie for his birthday which was a lovely surprise :).

Overall it can be pricy, expect to spend £50+ per person if you want to fully experience all the lovely dishes, drinks & sushi they have to offer.

Visited for lunch, having been here before, and once again the experience was excellent. The food was outstanding, with sushi that was exceptionally fresh.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a very enjoyable place to dine.

The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout. The restaurant is clearly very fortunate to have such a fantastic team.

Kibou great take on Japanese cuisine in Clifton Bristol.
Portion size here is slightly bigger than most restaurants of this type & the food was fresh tasting with it also being very well presented.

Maybe we arrived early but we were put upstairs which seemed to be away from the main bar?? I don’t know maybe diner’s go upstairs?

Service was great really but a little quick to remove plates literally as soon as we’d finished any course.

Still 100% recommend

Honestly my new favourite restaurant! Came here for a nice meal out and I am still dreaming about the volcano roll!! The visit and food was beyond my expectations and for what it is, it’s worth the price. Loved all the food we had !! Drinks were lovely too- I loved the Yuyake.

Think I would only want the music to be turned down a bit as sometimes it was hard to hear each other when the restaurant also got busier!

We used to visit Kibou weekly but have since returned after travelling. In my opinion the quality of the food has declined. The ramen was not as flavourful as before the broth was not very tasty and the chicken was full of uncooked batter, this did give it an unpleasant un-cooked flavour in the middle.and the spoon was dirty.

£10.20 for five pork gyozas feels a bit steep, and on top of that, there’s a 15% service fee we weren’t told about. that said, the food itself was excellent. the chicken was fried to perfection and the pork gyoza was incredibly tender and flavorful. while it’s not an everyday spot, i’d return to Kibou for a special treat or celebration

Beautiful restaurant and lovely food! However, we were left unimpressed by the still water costing £4! Especially since the way it was offered making it seem complimentary. We also received blue fin tuna sashimi instead of yellowtail – I knew this to be true and asked them if they had given me the wrong fish, but the waitress doubled down and told me it was yellowtail. I didn’t want to make a fuss so I left it, but needless to say I was not impressed. Still an enjoyable overall experience but I am not sure if I will return which is disappointing as I have had many good experiences here before… 4/5
