Pho Rex – The Bowl That Felt Like Coming Home

I came in after work with my daughter — tired, hungry, and needing the kind of comfort that feels like when you scraped your knee as a kid and your mama handed you a warm bowl of soup. It was our first time here, just an hour before closing, and not once did they rush us. They let us take our time, explained the menu with patience, and helped us choose dishes we’d actually love.
I ordered the Beef & Shrimp Udon Noodle Soup, and my daughter got the Chicken Pho. I paired mine with a hot jasmine tea, and we shared an order of their Cream Cheese Crispy Wontons — the kind that are crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and impossible to stop eating.
The woman working that night was the kind of soul you don’t forget. She kept complimenting my motherhood, celebrating the bond between me and my daughter, and making us feel genuinely seen. Her kindness was the unexpected highlight of the night.
Then the food arrived.
A giant bowl of soup, steaming and fragrant, every bite bursting with flavor. If you’ve been here before and haven’t gone back, I need answers, because our first experience was heaven.
It was so good we came back a second time — and doubled our order.Another round of soup, a noodle plate, two orders of the wontons, and drinks.
This time I tried the Passion Fruit Iced Tea, and the real passion fruit pieces at the bottom of the cup absolutely shocked me. I’m still thinking about that drink. I will be going back for more.
Across both visits, we tried so many dishes, and not a single one disappointed. Warm service, comforting food, and a place that feels like mama’s kitchen when you’ve had a long day.

You guys, the broth is amazing. It’s so full of flavor. Everything we ordered was delicious The Bánh Mi was divine! The prices are better than other places. Go! You won’t regret it. My face is full of joy from the meal! Yum!

Let me start off by saying that I’ve tried all the PHO spots around my 10 mile radius.
It’s become one of my comfort foods! So I think I’m pretty good at reviewing good Pho.
I see this place has gotten a few one stars lately and I can understand the wait times sometimes are crazy but that should tell you how much customers come back!!
This pho is the BEST Pho I’ve tried! Today, I didn’t want to drive the extra 10 min so I settled for something near my house and I’m so disappointed. If only I would’ve just came here my usual spot.

Seems like a new ownership of this original pho place that was here. One thing to mention is that the food was decent, but wasn’t the best that I have had in this cuisine. This place is more of a mix of Thai and Vietnamese food, which is not bad just different! Main thing I was concerned about was that I was trying to ask about a food allergy to egg, but they didn’t seem to know what I was asking.

We are always greeted and welcomed. Their food and fast service are at point. The owners are very nice people and sure will noticed you if you come often and thank you for your support to their business. They thank us in the past when they recently got the restaurant. Their veggie options are great and their pho is delicious. Is Our to go place to have family dinner and Thai tea boba.

Terrible, first we ordered at 5:20 and was told the order would take 20-25 minutes, we show up and it isn’t ready, thats expected and fine. Unfortunately we ended up waiting 40 minutes in the restaurant while both take out and dine in got their food before us.
Also we asked for no shrimp in the combination noodle and it came both cold (like all of our food) and with a lot of shrimps Im now fighting for my life on the toilet at 3 am never going back again

This place used to be Pho Mai. The new management has taken over and had a mural of Vietnam painted, brightened the inside and removed some of the old clutter. The food is delicious I’d rate it a 4.3/5 but where they truly win is the service. Not only are they friendly but they are very speedy!
Food is typically out almoat within 5-8min from when you order! The only major complaint I have is the serving size for the price you pay should be a bit more generous.

I went in to place an order to go, place the order at 2:40pm didn’t get it till 3:38pm. The person before order to eat there had gotten their food ate and left, when I was still waiting. Went to ask about my order they said it was ready. The cashier wasn’t sure why no one told me it was ready. We very upset about the matter but just took my food and left. I even left a $8 tip for take out thinking they were have great service.

Very good Vietnamese outside of Alhambra, CA. Nobody can beat Alhambra, maybe Garden Grove or Westminster, and that’s a big maybe. The Pho here, and noodles have a good taste. The beef stew was very good as well. At first, I was very worried because they were not a lot of Asian people dinning here. But I was comforted when I saw the guys serving the food because they know Vietnamese food for real. It was very close to traditional Vietnamese with a small spin. Good choice for take out too. I still want blood cake but they didn’t have it
